This resort hotel is situated directly on the sweeping Makronissos bay: a "Blue flag" beach, famous for its fine, white sands and crystal clear water. Set in a sparsely developed region and bordering on the St. Nikandros forest nature reserve, tranquility and natural beauty prevail. Alternatively there is a wide choice of free organised activities available and within a short stroll from the hotel, are various bars, restaurants, shops, sight seeing attractions and leisure options.

Arriving in the evening, we were greeted by smiling reception staff. We had missed the evening meal and were delighted to discover a bottle of wine, sandwiches, fruit and cake in our beautiful room which had spacious wardrobes and plenty of storage. Spacious balcony. Wall mounted large TV. Fridge stocked with cold drinks. Kettle. The room had good lighting with gentle side lights, independent bedside lights with bendable arms. Bed - comfortable. Bathroom - spacious. Towelling robes, slippers. We were on the 5th floor. Three elevators and waited less than 2 minutes for one to arrive. The dining areas had indoor and outdoor seating. Buffet with plenty of choice, including an area for children’s meals. Loved the area where fresh wraps were prepared, especially the Pitta Gyros. All staff friendly and efficient and special thanks to Andronis and Maria. Tables were prepared and cleared quickly. Hygiene was excellent. Two separate (table service) restaurants, Italian and Seafood, payable. One free weekly visit for AI Plus. Our sun beds were comfortable situated along the decking, looking towards the soft sandy beach. The sea was warm and clear. The entertainment team were enthusiastic, energetic and friendly, especially Kevin. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his table tennis games with other guests and Kevin. He also joined playing darts. It was great to find so many guests enjoying these organised games, plus activities in the pool. We love travelling and it’s rare for us to return to the same hotel. We have visited many times over the years and look forward to returning again, the hotel, staff and beach are perfect. We were All Inclusive Plus staying end of August/start September

Spent a week at the hotel September 2022, very clean, fantastic location on the wonderful beach, Had premium drinks package which was good the only fault being that some drinks which were all the same price you could not have, just did not make sense, and each bar had different drinks you could not have in that bar but could have in another bar, very confusing, but overall drinks very good, the Levels bar near the beach being get for relaxing by the sea. Room modern and clean , and most staff helpful, Food was good and fish restaurant very nice Will be going back again next year, great place to relax

Stayed here for a week for a family wedding and was overwhelmed with how friendly the staff were, excellent food with a wide choice and amazing cocktails, hotel is exceptionally clean, rooms were a good size and the animation team treated everyone like family. We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely come back. Special recognition to Adele (who is always smiling and happy) Kevin for making us laugh and ensuring we stuck to game rules (that’s my man) Jake for his belly dancing and the dancing wars at pool exercise and the bar staff, Christophos and Elena for making the best cocktails (and the other blonde lady but we can’t remember her name - sorry) The entertainment was fantastic (fire dancers, comedy) Beach was immaculate and nothing was too much trouble Panoramic bar was spectacular My only comment They need to use re-usable cups at the pool bar - i understand there were covid measures in place but it was an awful lot of single use plastic

We were unexpectedly given a sea view (garden view booked) and couldnt fault the room - large, clean, good balcony, king size bed all very happy with. Elsewhere the pools were great but need to be lively to get a sunbed at the main pool, and we were usually happier at the side where there was no shortage of beds and more of a breeze to cool us down. The beach bar was a nice hang out but some friends who had lunch there were surprised when it wasnt included in their AI package and they were charged extra. Our premium AI package was supposed to allow us to eat at their speciality restaurants on two nights - but they dont open Mon/Tues/Wed. We only found this out on Thursday, and were attending events elsewhere on Saturday and Sunday, so we were only able to go to the seafood restaurant on the Friday evening. It was very disappointing. Entertainment was absolutely dire - they need to improve this drastically unless the whole intention was to clear the room and save on all-inclusive drinks. Not everything was all inclusive - some cocktails were chargeable even if they seemed to have the same or similar ingredients to others. Dont wait for a waitress or you will die of thirst - go to the bar yourself. Standard of food seemed to decline over the course of our week there - was decidedly underwhelmed by the quality and choice of food at both lunch and dinner buffets. Nice hotel, poor food, poor entertainment, and some of the staff were downright miserable, no matter how pleasant you were to them.

The Pink Wave/ Animation team at Asterias was beyond brilliant. Adel, Jack and Kevin were there throughout and came to feel like part of the family. Valentina and Oliwia were also incredible but joined toward the end of our stay and so unfortunately we didn’t get to spend as much time with them. The team were always fun, energetic and engaging. They have a natural way of making you feel comfortable and at home. Their shows were so professional and well choreographed with great variety throughout our trip. They involved everyone: from my 55 year old dad to my 6 year old niece. Every day was fun and full of activities. We can’t thank them enough for making our trip so special and I truly hope our paths cross again in the future.

We arrived late due to a delayed flight out of BHX, check in was very easy and the staff were very helpful. We had two rooms, both had stocked mini fridge and a complimentary bottle of wine, sandwich and fruit basket on our arrival. One room had a garden view, the other a sea view, in fairness you can see the sea from both elevations of your floor is high enough (We were on the 4th floor). Beds were super comfy with extra pillows in the closet. Room also had a kettle, hairdryer, air con, Wi-Fi , usb sockets, plenty of storage and a safe. Bathroom was a wet room with a rainfall shower and large wash basin. Rooms are serviced by housekeeping daily. There are 3 lifts that operate so you never had to wait long. The reception area is large and airy with plenty of seating and sockets for charging phones/laptops etc. Food is buffet style, there was a very good selection of foods for breakfast, enough to satisfy all tastes. Lunch is slightly more formal, again plenty of selection to suit all tastes. Dinner, again slightly more formal had a great selection of foods with every night being a different theme. We all commented on how good the food was, from breakfast through to dinner every day the quality and quantity was very high. Reading other reviews about rude staff, this certainly wasn’t the case for us and we didn’t notice or hear any rudeness either. The waiting staff were attentive and polite and the service was faultless. There are bars near the pools that open at 10am for soft drinks, beer, cocktails although some drinks are not included in either all inclusive or premium all inclusive. That said there is still plenty to go out (I know we tried). There are plenty of sun loungers, we spent most of our time by the main pool, the area is well maintained and clean. Water in the pool is lovely and warm with depths to suit all. There are daily water aerobics that the entertainment team put on, Kevin and Adel will try there best to get you involved!! It wasn’t for us but was fun to watch. On an evening there is a mini kids disco and then more down up entertainment later on, the usual stuff, singers, comedy night, magic show etc, all ok but it mostly seemed to lean more towards the German/Austrian sense of humour. A couple of nights we sat in the rooftop panorama bar, this was very nice especially as there was a nice breeze on an evening. There is table service with a large selection of cocktails on offer however only a few are available on the all inclusive packages which is a bit of a shame and maybe something that could be changed in the future as I’m sure more people would use this bar. To summarise this is a great hotel. It has great facilities, great rooms, great staff, great pools, great bars, great food and in a great location right on the beach. We would have no problem returning back to the Asterias, we had a fantastic holiday!

I can only give any stars thanks to its stunning location. Hotel its situated on one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, Makronissos beach. Water is warm, clean and crystal clear. Hotel has decent amenities, such as lovely pools, gym, beach bars and a seafood restaurant and Italian restaurant ( only all inclusive premium guest get one dinner a week included in a package). Hotel its also very close to the Water park. On the other hand, we were really disappointed with Hotel staff ( there were 2 or 3 exepctions) Staff were rude and arrogant, barely speak foreign languages. Restaurant manager with NO manners and with very abusive behaviour to anyone who forgets face mask, or wearing flips flops in a restaurant. Instead of explaining what the rules are, they are giving commands or threatening with police! After that this manager ignored us until end of our stay. He was only helping and serving other guest. Be aware of him, skinny guy in his fifties and half bald and always carrying a phone. Many people complained about him. Not what I expect for £4000! Food was below average, mostly fast food and same selection every day, except one dish. Breakfast was like in 2 star hostels. You can only get lovely food in the above mentioned restaurants, but you have to pay extra. All inclusive its not really with everything included. You only get local drinks, and you don't even have kettle in a room, unless you upgrade to "All inclusive premium " for €160, if you pay cash or €220 if you pay by card. I had a deep though about this hmmmm. Even with premium package you are not getting everything, there is only very little selection of imported drinks included. And you need to check if they really give you what you asked for, because they tend to serve you local stuff instead of imported anyway. BE AWARE OF THAT. Rooms are average, but bathroom its a joke! Toilet its located behind bathroom doors, so if anyone is sitting there, will be smashed to the face by that doors if someone else opens them. There is no bath either only shower room and its not very clean as well as toilet. My conclusion is that Hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars yet, unless they improve their customer service and better variety of food.
