The Grecian Bay Hotel stands out for its prime location, offering guests the perfect balance of serenity and convenience with easy beach access near Ayia Napa. While the hotel's service is frequently lauded for its friendliness and professionalism, opinions on the atmosphere and room decor are split, with some guests finding them a bit outdated. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with most areas well-maintained, although a few guests have suggested more frequent floor sweeping and sheet changing. The hotel's value proposition garners mixed reviews, with the food and amenities often praised, yet room quality and additional costs sometimes drawing criticism.

The Grecian Bay was the perfect hotel in Cyprus for us.
We had a room in the West Wing with a sea view on the 5th floor. From the balcony we had a wonderful view of the bay and the small harbor in Ayia Napa. The entire hotel complex is pleasantly quiet. In the evenings you can occasionally hear the shows of the neighboring hotels from a distance. But that's not the Grecian Bay's fault, and we were able to sleep undisturbed, even with the balcony door open.
The rooms are friendly, bright and modern. If you look, you'll find some wear and tear. But this didn't affect the overall impression for us.
The breakfast was completely sufficient for our needs in terms of quality and quantity. We particularly liked the morning ambience on the terrace and it gave us a nice start to the day. Only the end of breakfast at 10:00 may be challenging for late risers.
The pool complex is simply great for swimming enthusiasts. In the first few days of our stay the water was still quite cold, but the heated indoor pool was a welcome alternative. The hotel has a beautiful stretch of beach with its own loungers and friendly sun hats. You can walk barefoot into the shallow water, there are no stones. There is a great lounge bar where you can get drinks and snacks with a sea view. During the day we didn't really leave the hotel complex.
The small harbor and Ayia Napa with many beautiful typical Greek restaurants and tavernas can be easily reached in the evening with a short walk either along the beach or across the street, which is a real advantage of the hotel's location for us.
The staff are unconditionally friendly and helpful, we could name a long list of names. Small special requests, including birthday cake and birthday serenades, were fulfilled with warmth.

The hotel does not give an impression of a 5star hotel.
When you enter the reception, sadly there is 1 max 2 local people.
The information provided during check-in is not sufficient. No one tells you where to find what, where you can get the towels, how the sun-bed reservation works (just that you have a place reserved for the length of your stay)… I would suggest adding a drinking water in the reception area (that 5 star hotels do have).
Regarding the cleaning service - to change the towels and make the bed is not enough. There is an urgent need to tell the staff to sweep the floor on a daily basis and to change the bed sheets from time to time as well.
In the beginning we got 2 bottles of water per day, after a few days we got only 1 water, some days there was none at all. We have run out of toilet paper and didn’t have any in stock…. It’s a very quick and inconsistent cleaning.
The shop in the hotel is great, the Fisherman’s Hutt too. Costas working there is a true great fisherman and a cook and a very nice person!
The majority of waitresses are students or fresh graduates and it feels like they lack some training. You mostly get a hello only from the local senior staff, which is a pitty. The food in the main restaurant is good and provides a nice selection, however the pool bar and grill bar is kind of a junk food (almost everything is served with chips (not french fries, but bought chips).
The location is great and the private beach too, umbrellas are big to provide necessary shade and the beach/pool attendants are very nice and helpful guys. Overall it is better than average but less than very good.

This hotel is a firm favourite. We have been visiting Ayia Napa for about 20 years with the majority of our stays being at this hotel and in fact whilst on holiday this year we booked for next year. Always a warm welcome from staff across the hotel - reception, bar staff, restaurant staff and pool staff and so nice to see that so many staff are those who have been there for many years. The rooms are always clean and well kept, with the turning down service chocolate always welcome. Breakfast has a lovely selection of foods to suit most people, if anything is missing then a quick chat with the staff on duty there resolves the issue. The pool areas is meticulously cleaned every day and the bonus of being able to book your subbed on arrival for the duration of your stay takes away the need to get up early. Scanning a QR code on your umbrella to order drinks from the pool bar is just perfect, if it is busy there might be a short wait but this is really not an issue. The gym is well appointed and air conditioned with a water cooler which is welcome. The beach is accessed through the pool bar area and is just perfect and clean. Turn left out into the beach and when the tide is low there are small rock pools further down, turn right and you are heading down towards the harbour.

We have just returned from this wonderful hotel that really does deliver quality and 5 star service in every way! From the moment we arrived the friendly and extremely hard working staff made us feel relaxed and welcome. The hotel is situated ideally in the most beautiful part of Cyprus with its easy access to the beach you can enjoy the best of both worlds. At the front of the hotel everything was within easy walking distance such as gift shops restaurants and bars. The waterpark and outdoor sculpture gallery is only a short walk away. We loved the soft sandy beach with its stunning with crystal clear water and with a short stroll along the shore you reach the harbour where you’ll find very reasonably priced boat trips on offer as well as various water sports if that’s your thing. Back to this lovely hotel, the rooms are great with the most comfortable beds and it’s spotlessly clean throughout. There’s a poolside service for snacks and drinks if you don’t want to go to the poolside bar, just scan the QR code to order! The food is great with plenty of choice for everyone. There is a towel service for the poolside too and changing the towels was quick and easy. The outside area is kept clean and is quiet. Honestly I could go on, as there is so much more to this place but above all the staff are fantastic and we want to thank them all for making it a truly memorable holiday. We cannot wait to come back!

We have had the most wonderful stay at Grecian Bay! The staff are lovely and always happy to help. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy and always smells fresh. Our room (although a bit dated) was perfect for us and we had a lovely partial view of the sea and pool. Well air conditioned and always cleaned daily.

The breakfast is of a high quality, plenty of choice and always fresh.
Allocated sunbeds were great, no rushing around in the morning (Just put you towels down by 10:30am) Fresh towels daily and can request to change sunbeds if you fancy a change. However, after 10:30am you can move to any sunbeds that do not have towels on them - by the pool and beach.

Highly recommend this Hotel and we hope to be back again soon 🥰

Arrival, stay and departure make the Grecian Bay Hotel a recommended travel destination. The reception was courteous, friendly and helpful. The reception is always sufficiently staffed so that there are hardly any waiting times. In addition, the employees there speak several foreign languages, which makes communication much easier.

We had only booked overnight stays with breakfast for this holiday. The breakfast buffet was extremely varied. The entire offering was beautifully presented every day and was of very good quality.

For dinner we have been choosing the local restaurants and taverns for 40 years, which are easily accessible on foot between five and thirty minutes.

The wonderful sandy beach and the pool area are beautiful and clean. The beach section belonging to the hotel with the loungers and parasols may only be used by the hotel's own guests. An absolute plus is the reservation system for loungers and parasols, which is completely stress-free. The pool team always keeps an eye on everything in this regard. They are also always happy to help you find the loungers and parasols you want.

The hotel and the rooms are older, but well maintained and clean. Every day, we were personally asked in the room whether everything was OK. For this holiday, we were assigned a room (directly above the main entrance and driveway) with a side sea view on the 1st floor. We didn't really like that, but that's a matter of opinion. We have already booked our future holidays there in September 2024, but this time with a frontal sea view - hopefully from the 4th floor upwards, we'll see.

The reception was mega warm, and the check-in went quickly and smoothly. Despite our late arrival we could still enjoy dinner. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well decorated, although the hotel is older.

Breakfast was first class with a great selection:
Fresh fruits and Cypriot specialities
Cheese and sausage plates, smoked salmon
Cereal, yogurts, crepes, egg dishes from the show kitchen
Various drinks, fresh bread and baked goods
Coffee specialties and tea

The hotel facilities offer numerous opportunities for relaxation and activity: A spacious and beautifully landscaped pool, indoor pool, Jacuzzi and tennis court are available. There are various wellness treatments, free fitness classes and a gym. The well-kept gardens offer barbecue and pool bars and a fish restaurant. Direct access to the beach is a highlight and the accompanying reservation system for sunbeds and umbrellas is excellent. Food and drinks can also be ordered by the pool or on the beach section.

We had half board and the food was really good. It's nice to still be served at the table. It also buffet evenings (themed evenings).

Ayia Napa city centre is within easy walking distance, making the hotel's location particularly attractive.

Overall a great hotel with many amenities, excellent service and very friendly staff in all areas! A special thanks goes to Eleni at the reception for her excellent competence and kindness. We will definitely come back.

We arrived late in the evening and as we had booked half board we missed dinner. Surprisingly, however, a cold plate was brought to our room so we could still satisfy our hunger. The rooms were very spacious and nicely furnished. However, if you had a room at the back, it was very loud from the surrounding bars and restaurants. Especially if you were assigned one on the lower floors. Luckily I was able to swap my room for one on the 4th floor and that was much more pleasant in terms of the view and the noise level.
The pool area is beautiful. The only annoying thing was the extremely close-packed sunbeds because you were almost lying on top of each other and didn't have the slightest privacy.
I personally also found the sunbeds on the beach to be very crammed together and because of the gently sloping beach, some of the sunbeds, especially at the back, were at a fairly steep angle. I also found the sunbeds on the beach not to be very well maintained. The straw parasols had seen better days...as had some of the parasols by the pool. In my opinion, these should be replaced for a 5-star hotel. The beach and the sea, on the other hand, were super beautiful.
If you booked half board, you really got the worst deal. The dining room wasn't exactly cozy, it seemed more like a well-furnished waiting room to me and you didn't have the option of eating outside. The food was OK, but not overwhelming. There was à la carte, which means you had 2 choices each: soup/starter/main course and dessert, although I actually understand something different by à la carte. The staff made an effort to be at least a little friendly. Especially at breakfast in the cork bar and on the beach/pool, the staff gave the impression that they had no desire to work at all; unfriendly, no hello, no smile, nothing at all. Whereas at the beach bar, the staff were the complete opposite: friendly smiles, a little small talk and courteous.
We were told that the hotel has a lot of trainees, but I wonder where the trainee supervisor is so that such important topics are learned correctly from the ground up. Because at some point the understanding of trainees ends. I can and should expect more from a 5-star hotel. The prices in the hotel are rather high.
All in all, it was still a nice vacation, but I probably won't stay at the Grecian Bay again.

We recently stayed at the Grecian Bay hotel with our 2 small kids under the age of 3. Our experience was mixed, with some positives and a few significant areas for improvement.

The hotel's location is perfect offering easy access to the beach. It made it very easy to enjoy the beach without much hassle, especially with young kids.

The breakfast was good, with a wide variety of options. The food was fresh, and the staff at breakfast were attentive and friendly. However the coffee served at breakfast was disappointing.

One of the highlights of our stay was the service. Whatever we asked for, we received very quickly. The staff were efficient, ensuring that our needs were met promptly.

While our room was spacious, the overall condition of the room and the hotel were not that good. Despite its 5 star rating, the hotel shows its age. The decor and furnishings in our room, as well as in the common areas, felt outdated. The hotel in general, did not have the modern, luxurious feel that we expected from a 5 star establishment. In addition to the above the kids outdoor playground was dirty which was disappointing.

Unfortunately, we encountered a frustrating situation regarding the beach beds. At check-in, we were not informed that the beach beds required reservations. It wasn’t until the next day, after we had already settled at the beach, that we were told about the reservation system. This led to a huge misunderstanding, and we had to move all our belongings, along with our 2 small children, from one bed to another. This lack of communication significantly impacted our experience and caused unnecessary stress.

Good time of day! Now we're relaxing in this hotel with our family. I'm writing a hallway review sitting on the floor on a dirty carpet because it's the second time in 10 days that my room door has been jammed. And we wait two hours for it to open. There's no organization, the staff are mostly unfriendly, especially on the beach. I don't want to call the waiter and order drinks on the beach anymore because the waiters come in with a face like you owe them. The room is poorly cleaned, the food leaves a lot to be desired, in a restaurant to my husband’s request the “manager” bluntly replied: “don’t teach me how to do my job!”
Is that even, sorry hotel five stars?!

Too bad, but it's a hoax, it's not five stars or even four. You go on vacation wanting a break and you get in trouble. Strongly do not recommend this hotel, regret if not your money, so your nerves.
