My husband and I have been lucky enough to visit some of the worlds leading hotels and Il Sereno is a rival to the top spot. It’s set in the most perfect setting on Lake Como (I believe all rooms have a lake view but it’s essential!) - the staff are so attentive, smiley and kind. You never want for anything. The food was amazing (they had just been awarded their Michelin Star the night we arrived). The breakfast plentiful with a varied menu for you to choose as many things as you like - lunch and dinner is delicious. Fairly fancy but also delicious with amazing views of the lake. Then there is the spa - a private jacuzzi, steam and sauna which you can book for an hour - absolutely private and stunning. Plus a heated pool to use all year round. I cannot fault anything about this hotel - we will certainly be back!…
I've had the good fortune of staying in some nice hotels, but Il Sereno sets the bar beyond any I have seen. It's simply perfect. The design, the amenities, the staff, the location, the lake itself all work together in perfect harmony. We will be back, probably many times, to stay agian!
From a design perspective, this hotel is sheer perfection. It is stunningly gorgeous, if you like modern architecture and interior design. The service is also impeccable. I typically don’t drink cocktails and asked the bartender to recommend which one of two I selected would be best. He made both, told me to taste them and choose one, and only charged me for the one I selected. The staff is warm, friendly and attentive. The general manager is a gem. My daughter and I stayed for seven nights and we are leaving relaxed and rejuvenated.
il Sereno was a beautiful experience for our group. The hotel is able to simultaneously stand out while still blending into the hills of Lake Como. Aside from the well-manicured gardens and sleek architecture, the hotel’s service was first-class. Outside of the hotel, inquiring about any reservation or detail was a seamless experience, while any internal activity was taken care of immediately and without any hassle. Separately, we truly enjoyed the food and beverage of Il Sereno. Bartenders created old-school drinks with a new-school twist, and the restaurant, managed by Mateo, was fantastic. While the restaurant management was new during the time of our stay, it was clear that the waiters, waitresses, and chefs all worked together to create a wonderful experience for its diners. The meals tasted and looked lovely - it’s evident that the chefs truly care about their food and it shows in the presentation and freshness of the food. I could not recommend this hotel and restaurant enough!…
What a sublime pleasure to stay in this most extraordinary of hotels. With its unrivalled location essentially floating above the gorgeous lake, its exquisite decor and pervasive ambience of calm and tranquility, this amazing property provides its very fortunate guests with an unforgettable experience. Apart from some relatively minor issues with service and attention to detail (which were professionally acknowledged and addressed), our stay was basically perfect (grazie mille to management). It is expensive but offers value for money. Very, very highly recommended. Stay there if you can!!
My husband and I think this maybe one of the most unusual and beautiful designed hotels we have ever stayed in .As we were celebrating our 34 wedding anniversary we got a magnificent upgrade ;made possible by the kind Maria in the front office .This was just an introduction to superb service -I was suffering with a sinus infection and they managed to get me a dr in 45 minutes . Whatever you wish they provide ..the reason I haven’t given this review 5 star is the quality of food from breakfast to lunch to dinner was disappointing..I would still recommend this hotel-romantic and special
We spent a few days at Il Sereno and it was just amazing. The hotel decor is modern yet with a retro'-style vibe. We had a frontal lake view suite and it was lovely. Service was impeccable and knowledgeable, A special shout out to Roberto for his recommendations and friendliness. We ll go back.
Everything at this hotel is 5 star excellent. The valet, the bar, gardens, food, drinks, rooms, etc. The views are just over top and we love how the hotel is secluded from the area. The boats they offer to other parts of the lake is a great touch too.
Top marks for the interior design! Suite and bathroom well appointed and luxurious. Restaurant and staff impeccable. The chef is very creative, teasing the palate with unusual combinations and artistic presentations which fool the senses. However: Upon arrival we were asked if we would like a kettle or a coffee machine in our room. Answer: Kettle please. No kettle was delivered until the following morning when we phoned reception. Upon our arrival, Virtuoso (the booking site) had kindly provided a bottle of prosecco in our room. We drank some on the first night. On the second night, the unwashed glasses still stood on the table and we had to rinse them ourselves. Are these glitches acceptable at a hotel of this calibre? The staff may have remembered our names at breakfast, but it would have been better to remember the kettle and to wash the glasses. Lastly, on the morning of my big birthday, I woke up and sat outside on the beautiful terrace to admire the view, feeling so lucky. It was just before 9 a.m. Suddenly a hedge cutter started up nearby. We had come for tranquillity but Il Sereno definitely did not live up to its name. Why operate gardening machinery at a time when guests want to enjoy a peaceful morning, instead of waiting until after guests have checked out at 11? We felt it was so inconsiderate. For the exclusive image Il Sereno wants to project, it could try much harder with the service. On the whole, it was a beautiful place but lacking a personal touch. …
We stayed for my daughters wedding and I can only say IS this place was and IS PERFECT! Check in was impressive with a minor hiccup at check out, but they did there best to work things out! We are world travelers, four Seasons, Hotel De Paris Monet Carlo etc, so you get and Idea of our style. Bottom line is you cannot beat the view, Como is Gods artwork and the Hotel is the place to stay and take it all in!!! The rooms and Hotel design are more trendy chic, which was refreshing, riva boats were a nice touch which I recommend hiring for 2 hours and have them fill it with fruits and wine...Thanks TB
