We had a family room for 4 adults with a bedroom and a living room, beside an open kitchen with a table and 4 chairs. We were located not in the main building at the beachfront. We were informed about this issue already during the booking process. The room location was in the Ahlbeckerhof Residence connected to the main building with and underground tunnel of a length of maybe 50 to 60 meters. Breakfast and dinner service was excellent in the main building. The service personal did not wear the COVID-mask correctly. The nose was in 4 of 5 cases not covered. Parking in the garage of the Ahlbeckerhof Residence possible. The rooms looked quiet demoded and need some moderate brush up in the next years. The electrical and water control appliances were lose or partly broken. Beside the bed in the master bedroom on both sides 1 of 2 halogen lamps were not operational. Also towels were only for two persons available. After contacting the front desk the towels missing towels were stocked but the lamps were not exchanged. On the next day also the lamp issue was solved. The WiFi in the Residence part was rather poor.…
Now every year we come back. The best place on all Baltic Coast.Comfort, service, delicious food, royal breakfests, rooms, you are in the center of the city but peaceful, face to the sea and the beach very good SPA and so clean everywhere,-all is perfect, plus honest, smiling, helpful staff,we feel now like home.Thank for your care.
It looks like a gorgeous old fashioned hotel facing the Baltic Sea. I travelled for 2 nights with my parents and our little dog. We were very excited to discover the hotel but it turned out to be more stress and frustration than anything. Reception allocated us 2 rooms in the apartment part of the hotel, not the main hotel which is definitely more charming! It’s a long way from the main reception/ breakfast area so not that easy. One of the room was freezing cold so it took more than 2 hours to get it changed. The other nice surprise : internet was not working. We explained it was very inconvenient for us and specially to me as I needed to work throughout the weekend. The reception excuse was that there’s no technician on duty over the weekend! (we checked in Saturday and left Monday around 11 am, and internet was still not working!!! They sent a cheap bottle of Prosecco to each room which I sent back as drinking will not make up the fact I wasn’t able to work! After many calls to reception I thought they will try to find a solution but nothing, not even an apology note the next day, not even an option! The other room my parents got was in the main hotel and had a jacuzzi, such a nice touch however it didn’t work! That’s the problem, the style looks quite used and bathrooms specially toilets in the rooms looks a bit dirty which is not at all luxury. Breakfast was below average, with small selection of fruits, not high quality breads and more than basic eggs Benedict and pancakes.. The rooms were not comfortable, either too hot and too cold. And finally on check out morning, we were woken up by construction in front of our windows starting from 6.30 am! Talk about a lovely relaxing weekend away! During check out, we explained again the unfortunate situation with no internet, the room changes, having breakfast in the brasserie.... and the best they did was to remove 24 euros parking fee! What a joke!! We asked to see a manager and apparently no one was there? Really at 11 am on Monday morning? What kind of management is that? Clearly they didn’t want to make any effort to assist us. The hotel is charming however the lack of service and attention to details ruins everything. Too bad and not worth spending your money there.…
For those of you who thought elegance had fled the Baltic Coast during 40 years of socialism never to return: take heart! This is a great hotel, with excellent and friendly service, several different restaurants, tea in the afternoon, fluffy towels and attractive rooms. They will pick you up at the train station in their car, tolerate your sandy dog (but not in the gourmet restaurant, which is just as well), let you use the sauna for free and arrange spa treatments at a reasonable price in house, make you a cappuccino for breakfast or bring you a glass of Tattinger in the bistro. We stayed in the addition, "Residenz," which has its own entryway but also access to the rest of the hotel by way of underground passages. Even the rooms without an ocean view were generous in size and well-equipped, especially the bath, with a fancy-pants shower and lots of room to stow your stuff. What a pleasure! Who would have thought!…
We decided to spend 3 days in Heringsdorf and booked a room at the Ahlbecker Hof. It was a very good choice. Competent service, excellent selection of restaurants - especially the Thai restaurant. A very nice SPA zone. Room overlooking the sea despite the bad weather turned out to be a hit. If you want to spend a romantic weekend (regardless of the weather) we can easily recommend Ahlbecker Hof Hotel. We will definitely be back again this year.
April is both a bad and a good time to visit Usedom and specifically Seebad Ahlbeck. There are very few people here at this time of year which is good, but that is because it can be very cold on the Baltic Sea coast. This wonderful old hotel (which has plaques at the front with the names of royalty and other famous people who have stayed there) is a great place from which to explore the island. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was warm and comfortable, the multiple options for dining were all good quality. I took the opportunity to walk to the east down the beach to Swinoujscie in Poland, and west to Heringsdorf and both were interesting.
The top of the top at the Baltic Coast. Cosy, stylish, clean, beautiful view from the terrace, excellent food, staff kind and helpful. It is more then 5*hotel. It is Palace. 4th time in this hotel and not enough. We (me and my sister) are very satisfied. Hope to come back next year. Special thanks to the menager, to the chief of both excellent restaurants, to the réception team and to all employees for their help, care, kindness and smile. The SPA is also very good. We feel relaxed and younger and full of energy to continue our trip. These 3 weeks in your hotel destressed us. We highly recommend you to all our friends. Once again thank you.
Place is very nice, clean, stuff is friendly and helpful. However be aware that not only WiFi doesn’t really work but also a lot of time your phone reception will be failing. You might be located in the second building, across the street, don’t count on the see view. There is an underground crossing to the main building with the pool, spa and restaurants but I think walking on the street is much faster. Breakfast is good, I really liked the coffee. Family apartments are not very spacious but good enough, there is a kitchen. Our bathroom had shower and jacuzzi bath. The one big problem for me- no air conditioning! And if you search the hotel on google it will tell you that there is ac. Unfortunately only 5 rooms out of 91 do. After a medium hot summer day our room felt like an oven and the windows go out on the street so it’s quitet for a short period of time at night. 5 star hotel, at the seaside should have ac!…
With two couples we booked a 4 day and 3 night holiday - Friday through Monday. The staff at the reception was helpful and friendly. Our car was parked in their garage by the bellman. The rooms were nicely furnished. The beds were wonderful. The view from the balcony overlooking the sea was great! The bathroom has a heated floor! The breakfast buffet was nice, the only things we missed were fresh pressed juices and omelettes with my choice of ingredients. The swimming pool size was ok, however the weather during this offseason holiday was bad and the number of lounges was not sufficient. Inside of the pool there were a number of massage jets, some of the were broken. The hotel has several restaurants. The Thai Restaurant is outstanding! When we arrived Friday afternoon we saw the painters in the hallway leaving their workplace. However, Monday morning at 7:15 they started their work right in front of our door. My call to the reception desk was immediate. They offered their apologies of not mentioning it the night before, so we could have worn earplugs. This is not what I expect in a five star hotel. In the evenings we enjoyed nice drinks at their bar, good atmosphere, knowledgeable barkeepers made it a good experience. Usedom tries to make the offseason interesting by hosting events. We were lucky with husky-races. So make sure to check the event listings.…
