Wonderful hotel with a great team to take care of your every need. The hotel has a wonderful spa with pool, sauna, and some unique Turkish style rooms. There’s a peaceful vibe for relaxing afternoons after skiing. I had half board and loved the good. A great experience and I will stay there again.

A fabulous family run hotel where the owner and manger are always available and always friendly. The staff are delightful and go out of their way to be helpful. This is how a hotel should be run. We have had the opportunity to stay at many ski hotels over the years, some in a much higher price bracket, but we always say the Plattenhof is the best and we are always so sad to leave.

First time in Lech and it was truly an experience, which will be hard to beat. Hotel Plattenhof was an amazing choice for us and the staff made our experience even better. The hotel is in a great central location of Lech, it offers a free ski shuttle every 20 mins to get you to the main lifts (only a 3 min ride or so) or you can ski directly from the back of the hotel. The booking process was smooth and the hotel responded to our queries and requests without delay. Upon arrival, the General Manager greeted us himself, and valet parked our car in the inside car park (this is at an additional cost). Our room was lovely, clean and spacious with an amazing view of the mountains and village from the balcony. We even had a mini bar with 6 soft drinks included free-of-charge per day, which which were refilled daily. We had booked the room on a half-board basis, which means we had breakfast and dinner included. As a nice surprise, we found out on arrival was that it also included an 'afternoon tea / snack' which was served in the bar area and included hot and cold snacks. The food in general was very good with a variety of options for everyone to choose from. Breakfast in particular was my favourite with each table receiving its own daily 'Hotel newspaper' with the weather forecast, a few interesting facts and the menu options for the same evening. Our waiters Lukas, Ondrej and Dominika truly made our stay exceptional. A big thank you also goes to the General Manager Othmar, who looked after us throughout our stay and made sure everything was just the way we had imagined. Overall, this was an excellent experience and we are already planning our stay for the next season! Big thank you to the whole team at Hotel Plattenhof :-)

Booked a junior suite with 3/4 pension. Hotel: + Nice Reception and lobby area - Restaurant, floors, ski-room should be renovated, not a 4*+ category for me. - Theoretically 150m to a lift, but it is out of operation this year / no warning on the website of the hotel, need to take the bus/, the way back no trail to the hotel, need cross the parking area of another hotel and climb down the hill. Room: + Spacious, 2 TVs, separate toilet & bath, + huge terrace - rather functional than stylish or modern - 3rd bed is small, not really for adults Wellness: + various Dampbäder and sauna with snacks and drinks - swimming pool area would require an immediate ramp-up, outdated condition - no Jacuzzi or whirlpool, would be basic Service: + nice and helpful staff - majority of the service team does not speak German and many of them are beginners + Food is okayish, afternoon snack is more than enough with desserts, soup etc - I miss that additional plus, fish was always good but no lamb, deer, duck or scampi etc /if you have fish everyday in the menu, appropriate knife would be expected at this niveau. All in all not bad, but not worth the price and does not meet 4* superior class for me. If I compare with cheaper 5* hotels in Obertauern e.g. Cinderella or Seekarhaus, big difference in service and design.

As a frequent traveller to Lech ( 30 years) we are conscious of the fact that Lech and its hotels are one of the more expensive in the world. Most if not all hotels however offer good value with great accommodation and sincere professional staff. As we were late this year to book our normal hotel I consulted TripAdvisor and Booking .com for available 4 and 5 star accommodation . The Plattenhof hotel was the only hotel with vacant rooms for Christmas. With similar high prices to all other 4&5 star accommodation I felt "safe" to book this. With no history of disappointment in Lech I did not think twice and booked The Plattenhof for 4 nights. I guess I can write several pages on the numerous unpleasant surprises and disappointments of this hotel and in particular its staff. Let me just highlife a few. When we arrived at 11;30 am at the hotel there was nobody to greet us. Our luggage was outside. We had to ask the front desk to please take care of it. Initially we had to wait for our room as it was not ready. After an hour we asked again and we were told that as an exception our room was ready...We booked a junior suite and believe me I know when I see a junior suite... this wasn't one. I want to make one particular comment about the hotel Director. For those remember the TV series "faulty Towers" this guy is a bad version of Manuel. He avoided any contact with the hotel ( new ) guest and his nervous behaviour made us wonder what his exact role was. The Plattenhof hotel is a old style hotel with rooms that beg for renovation. The spa is Perestrojkaka style and when going for a swim one need to bring a towel from the room...My breakfast neighbours had to pay for fresh orange juice . all this would be ok I guess when you book and pay for an 1 to 2 star accommodation . This hotel charges Four Season Dubai room rates per night. That is fine by me but I then also expect a similar service. for me and my wife this hotel is an absolute no go.

This hotel makes you feel right at home, you get the same table every day with a set menu for breakfast and dinner Rooms are much bigger than we expected and very friendly staff. Spa is only open a few hours in the afternoons and a limited gym. Priced right.

We were greeted on arrival with a glass of Prosecco which was nice. The rooms we were allocated were adjacent to each other and facing out over the village which is a lovely view and got the afternoon sun. We were able to go back and forth between rooms via the balcony which was handy. The rooms themselves had simple decor with comparable beds and were spacious enough to accommodate us and all our gear. I would say the bathroom was a little dated in style but had everything you need. The pillows were very peculiar being large, square and lumpy. Couldn't get comfortable and the synthetic ones gave off green sparks when you handled them at night and made my hair super static. I would love to see a kettle or coffee machine in the room as I prefer tea and coffee to soft drinks (the soft drinks in the mini bar were included in the half-board package) My teenage children enjoyed the swimming pool but did not feel able to use the saunas as they were mixed sex and there was a sign stating that no swimwear should be worn. There were plenty of older people using the sauna who were happy to let it all hang out. The food in the hotel was really good. The dinner menu was generally five courses and we made our choices of starter and main at breakfast time (from a selection of 3). Everything was tasty and where there were dietary requirements they did their best to provide good alternatives. Breakfast was served from 8am and was excellent too. (On the last day we were due to leave Lech at 8am but the hotel allowed us to have an earlier breakfast- would have been a long hungry day otherwise). Post skiing there was a selection of food laid out from around 2.30 to 4.30 in the buffet area including some hot and cold options such as salad. We didn't really avail ourselves as we ate on the slopes but it looked pretty good. Boot room was warm and clean although a little crowded around the times when the bus was about to arrive. We found that there was a very handy little path up the side of the hotel which, after a shortish uphill hike, led us to a T-bar which meant we could ski down into Lech and get the chair, thus avoiding using the bus. Same at the other end of the day. Anything to avoid the bus! This is quite a traditional hotel and if boutique luxury is your thing then this isn't it but it is very comfortable and friendly and we enjoyed our stay. If coming to Lech we would definitely consider returning to this hotel (although I might look into whether there are any alternative pillow options).
