Had a wonderful time at malikha Lodge 2. Spacious rooms along the river bank with stones. Quite atmosphere and cool weather to enjoy. We had dinner across the road, authentic local restaurant name "daw Nge" with fraction of hotel price. Usual visit places are river cruise, waterfall and pagoda.

This place is really relaxing. It has a beautiful view and really friendly and polite staff. The rooms are very spacious and inviting. There are plenty of activities in the area, but staying in the room most of the day was wonderful too.

This is my fifth visit to Myanmar and I wanted to try something different and opted for a visit to Putao. The trip involves a three part plane journey from Yangon but it is well worth the effort. There are not many tourist accommodation options and Malikha Lodge is certainly not a cheap one. However, it is is in a fantastic setting with views from the platform outside the restaurant out towards the snow capped mountains which you can see on a clear day. The accommodation is in thatched bungalows set along the river with their own wonderful views. The food was good. The hotel offers a few white water rafting and trekking options which I did not use on this occasion. Putao is a beautiful small town with friendly people. There are some government restrictions as to where tourists can go but there is still plenty to see from the trekking areas where you can visit. For those with the time and money who want to see nature at its best, I would certainly recommend. It is certainly not inundated with tourists at present. There were only two of us in the Lodge and there were probably 3 other tourists on the plane up. The think you can only get thereby plane and so you are in the hands of the local airlines as to when you can get up and back.

Just backed from Putao and the 2 nights in Malikha loadge...the bungalow is amazing....the giant bath tub is very tempting. Staffs are super nice and super helpful. We did rafting which is unbelievable. The sceneryb is so beautiful like painting, water is cold and clear and clean. Couldn't believe this is Myanmar. Kachin food we had during lunch and dinner is great..I am Thai and you know how great Thai food is, Kachin food is different but very tasty and not oilly like typical Burmese food. At 6.30 from the main Lodge, we see snow cap mountain...pic attached here...

Putao is a small town in northern myanmar. A beautiful town which is famous for ice capped mountains hiking. But where to stay in Putao if you are not going to mountains? We went to Putao for long days hiking to mountain. So, we didn't sleep but we visited to the lodge. It's so beautiful place with awesome view of Malikha river. You can even see the beauty of Northern Myanmar ice-capped mountains if the weather is clear. You can ride bicycles, bikes, quad bike or jet ski. The bar is beautiful and well-decorated. Hotel rooms are clean and nice to stay. It's a little far from airport and downtown. But if you want to chill or relax in cold weather, you should visit there.
