Every year I do a motorcycle tour. This year my tour took me to Termeno (Tramin). Through MoHo motorcycle hotels I came across the Schneckentaler Hof. For my tours to the Dolomites and Lake Garda exactly the right location. I did my booking with email and I got a quick answer. Super was that I got a double bed room with a view to the valley and the mountains. The room was as described and for my needs large enough well and clean. The bathroom with toilet was a bit small. Room service very good. The sun shines only in the morning to the room thereby he heats up not so on The only downside to this room was that it was just over the terrace. This terrace is used by the hotel guests all evening. When I stayed in the hotel was until 24:00 guests on the terrace and it was relatively noisy. Breakfast was ok and served on the terrace. Since I booked half-board, there was every evening a 4-course menu. Salad, appetizer main course and dessert. The food was very good. Drinks are at their own expense. As described in MoHo, the owner himself is a biker and has several bikes. A garage is available for free use. There is also a washing area, helmet cleaning and, if necessary, the possibility of repairs. My Conclusion: I recommend this hotel and I would book the hotel again.

The hotel is located in Tramin, in the middle of the local vineyards, a bit outside of the village (walking distance). We stayed there for a few days with some friends from Hong Kong and Australia for whom the location and area were a fantastic experience. Rooms are very tidy and if you can, get one with a balcony in the front so you can enjoy the view over the valley. Bathroom small, but functional. Biggest issue with the rooms was the thin walls - you can hear everything from the room next door - every sneeze... Food was good, we had half board so had dinner there every night and were quite pleased. The owner is the chef and very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again, ideal as a base to do day trips around the region. The hotel hands out "wine passes" which give you free access to local public transportation (bus, cable cars, trams etc).

We picked this hotel by chance and were warmly welcomed with our bikes. They had a garage where we could put the bikes and a pool behind the house. The rooms were tidy, but not spacious and the last renovation was years ago, i.e. functional but not as exclusive as the price. For € 130.- per night for a double room you can definitely expect some luxury - which we founs during our trip for less. So all in all we stayed fine and for € 70-80,- per night the rating would definitely be better.

Schneckenthaler hof is a hotel when you are on the way to real Italy. The village of Tramin is very much like the villages in Austria and the south of Germany. The common language is German and also the food has a lot of German influances. The rooms are rather small, at least the room we had, so if you want to stay longer ask for a bigger room. The hotel is situated in the middle of wine fields on the slope of a hill. Back side of the hotel is cooling of in the night, nice because there is no ac. There is a nice swimming pool, you have to ask for towels The majority of the guest are people who stay there for a week, full board, or they are on the road like we were. The owner is helffull and easy going. Food is average, wine is good and the terras is fantastic, although part of it is covered because of the heavy sun and sometimes the rains. Breakfastbuffet is ok.
