The hostel was beautiful-lots of care, love and thought put into the common rooms and outside space, with lots of comfy chairs, space etc..The hostel is beautifully designed and decorated-a real hippie beach theme!! The free pick up/drop off service to the main centre of town and the hostel was superb. The rooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen's are... More

The pink hostel is one of the nicest places I've stayed in. The staff is easy going and young, very friendly and always in a good mood. The facility is nice and clean. Two rooms share a kitchen and a bathroom, which is very nice and creates a private atmosphere. The big yard in the middle is equipped with hammocks... More

Firstly, this hostel gives off a chilled/hippy vibe. There are all sorts of rules around the hostel eg no goon allowed... You at least think you're going to get a good nights sleep but there is no night manager here. It is not a quiet hostel. People were loud until around 1am and there were 2 loud French guys sat... Wanted to stay half a week, ended up staying over 3 weeks. I liked this place! The apartment style setup is a nice change, compared to normal hostel setups. The staff was helpful and easy going - the checkout time was not really forced all the time and you were allowed to use the facilities when you asked nicely even... More

We stayed here for a week; Noosa is such a cool place with lots to see so it was nice to come back to hostel and relax in the hammocks and sit around with others and share stories, play pool and listen to music. The bedrooms and kitchens are very clean, and cleaned each morning by the hostel staff! Would... More

Dolphins is a hostel with shared rooms, dormitory type rooms. It also offers private rooms and they are far away from the shared dorms with a separate kitchen and bathroom. This is really the ideal place for couples or just people that want to relax away from the crowds. The private room area feels more like a hotel than a... More

Great value, medium sized, tidy hostel 3 min walk to Sunshine beach, chilled out and spacious outdoor communal areas, quiet in the evenings. The beach is a beautiful quiet surf beach. Indian/South Asian influenced decor. Very relaxed environment.. incense burning in the mornings. I had a private room which is comfortable, large and clean, though the lock kept jamming up... More

Nice place clean/ tidy Staff not so friendly as other places I've been too. Good rooms and kitchen to make your own food. Really good location near to the beach and also near to the local shops. We were in a 4 bed dorm room. They had a pizza and Dvd night

The Kiwi dude on staff gave me REALLY bad directions for where to leave my bag when I went on the Fraser Island tour, and I ended up leaving it outside reception hoping they would find when they opened in half an hour before someone else did. That was super NOT cool. Everything else was really nice. It's really close... More

This is an awful hostel, although it's a short distance from a few shops and sunshine beach, the hostel is dirty, there's rats in the kitchen and cockroaches in the bedroom, the staff are unhelpful backpackers and all evening it smelt of cannabis, if your looking for a joint to smoke and happy to sleep in a dirty sheets come... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Chill out and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Dolphins Beach House at beautiful Sunshine Beach, Noosa. This secluded, hippy-style haven is the closest hostel to the beach in Noosa, situated next to Noosa National Park with a boutique shopping village just one minute away. The ambience of this family-run hostel is quirky and unique - definitely not part of a franchise backpackers business. The owners are experienced travelers themselves, and Dolphins Beach House reflects their love of travel, with many exotic artifacts from India to Burma and Thailand. Once you slip past the gardens, the trees, the funky pink walls and the Guatemalan architecture, you'll realize that you have found a restful retreat. It's no wonder that Dolphins Beach House is Lonely Planet's best pick for Noosa for 2010 / 2011. Relax, unwind, enjoy. Our friendly staff are always happy to recommend where to go and what to see next. Office hours are 8:00 am to 7:00 pm ... more   less
