We booked a 10 night stay for our anniversary in a deluxe two bedroom apartment via booking.com having reviewed the descriptions and photos on the resort’s website. We were very disappointed to find that the room, whilst having stunning views across and down the river, was unrenovated and as others have noted had mould in the bathroom and very old and well used kitchen utensils, glasses etc. The furniture in the living room consisted of a very dated lounge suite and two outdoor chairs with cushions. I have just reviewed the resort website photos (all 51 of them) and can not see any photos of the interior of this apartment under the two bedroom category.
As others have said the bathroom and in particular the shower has mould present on many of the tiles making it quite un-hygienic
Ultimately the deciding factor in whether we stayed or went was the lack of any sort of block out blinds in the bedrooms making it impossible to sleep after 5 am owing to the light, this was compounded on what turned out to be our final night by a security light malfunction outside the bedroom that blinked on and off every couple of minutes. At around 9 pm having suffered the issue for sometime I contacted the manager initially via voice call to the office which had a recorded message and a mobile number for ‘real emergencies’ and after an exchange of messages was informed that she will not able to to fix that evening, she will need to have the electrician do it the following day. When I raised this the following morning the manager informed me she had inspected it the previous night and couldn’t see it blinking at which time I asked for a change of room and was informed they were booked out and therefore could not move us. At this point i requested an early check out. This was happily agreed to and we agreed to contact booking.com to inform them of our early departure so the resort was not charged the additional commission. We have honoured our agreement.
My advice to prospective holiday makers is to request photos of the exact room prior to booking and inspect the room upon arrival prior to accepting.

With all due respect, this review is quite unwarranted. All of our apartments are individually owned and furnished and fitted out according to the individual owner's tastes. We concede that there was an issue with a common area light and given that it was defective during the evening, it was impossible to have the matter attended to in the evening in question however an electrician was called first thing the next morning. The guests (from a southern state) were alarmed at the time the sun came up - clearly something management have no control over whatsoever. The guest was granted an early departure without question. We do hope the guests continued to enjoyed their holiday despite the sun rising so early!

My friends and I stayed at Noosa Shores Resort for the recent Noosa Triathlon and had such a fantastic visit.

The resort managers were extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was a problem.

Our apartment had amazing views of the river.

We will be back!

First time staying in a two bedroom apartment in Noosa, and wanted something on the water as bringing family from England. Overall lovely with gorgeous water views and a nice pool for everyone. Also very close to restaurants, shops and generally a good location. Couple of down points.....the apartment a bit ‘tired’ and a few things not working, for instance the bathroom door lock. Also, no lift for older relative which was a pain. But overall for the price and location we thought as a whole it deserved 4 stars. Probably would return if looking for a place for more than 2 people.

I was booked to stay in the hotel with the below reviewer, Selfy2014 and would like to address the blatant lies constructed in the response to her review. The account offered by Selfy2014 is 100% accurate and fair.

Management is correct, the apartment we were allocated was indeed 'entry level'. The couches were stained, we were on the ground floor to the side of the noisy pool, the one bathroom was dated, mouldy and filled with ants. Back in APRIL we booked a superior room so as one could imagine, we were displeased with the room we were given as it was by no means what we booked or paid for. We chose to address the matter at reception.

When we addressed the matter with reception, we were explicitly told there were no other rooms available. They stated that they only had one other room vacant, however it had not been cleaned - there was no offer for it to be cleaned or for us to view it. Obviously we were not going to choose to stay in a dirty apartment and requested that they refund our money instead.

Given it was a beautiful weekend in Noosa, at the last minute we were unable to find any other accommodation and would have been in dire straits had we not known a local who kindly offered to let us stay at their place.

As we stated in our review, the reception staff did provide a prompt refund which was appreciated but also a consequence of their own mistake.

The response from management is repugnant and readers will see the last few reviews paint a pretty clear picture and pattern. They have stated that the purpose of Selfy2014's review was to paint the hotel in as poor a light as possible - the review is a dot point account of exactly what occurred so if management believe that it has painted the hotel in a poor light then perhaps they need to have a look at the operation of the hotel. Readers can see the last few reviews have been less than glowing.

We have no motivation for vexatious reviews, we got our money back and stayed with friends - the entire purpose of these reviews is to provide information to others looking to book so that they can make an informed choice. We didn't have a pleasant experience so we chose to share and management's response to that is to outright lie. Save yourselves the drama.

In this case, there was an apartment allocation error on our part, which was conceded as soon as it came to our attention. The guests were then offered a choice of two other apartments, with an opportunity to view them before accepting. They declined our offer, saying they had already booked elsewhere (which they are now saying they hadn't). The guests were given an apology and a prompt and full refund. Despite this, it appears that they have chosen to leave a spiteful review to try to damage the Resort's reputation. We stand by everything stated in our previous response. As in any busy Resort, we do make mistakes from time to time but when this happens we endeavor to resolve any problem that has arisen and to make amends as soon as possible. The fact is that we have hundreds of satisfied guests each year and many of these return regularly to enjoy the benefits of our Resort. Unfortunately, from time to time there will aleways be guests who will use Trip Advisor for their own negative purposes.

Booked a 2 night stay 7 months in advance in a Superior 2 bedroom unit (recently renovated/modern). Purpose of trip was for a wedding. Arrived at property and was given the lowest standard room. Extremely old, ants everywhere in the bathroom, mouldy. Complained as this was not the unit I booked and paid for. Was advised they did not have another unit for me. Could not find any other accommodation in Noosa. Unacceptable. Was given a full refund very promptly which was good. But whole experience ruined what should have been a great weekend away in Noosa.

The above account is not not accurate and the reviewer's intention appears to be to paint our Resort in as poor a light as possible. This guest was accidentally allocated a Standard apartment. It was an "entry level" apartment and has not been fully renovated by the owner. Unfortunately, the error was not discovered until after the guest checked in and was given the keys. When the guest returned to reception to raise her concerns, the error was immediately recognised, apologies were offered and she was given a choice of two alternative apartments that have been fully renovated or the option of a full and immediate refund. The guest then informed us that she had already booked accommodation elsewhere in Noosa and declined to even view the other apartments we had to offer.Apologies were reiterated and the guest's refund was processed immediately. For the record, we did find a few ants in the bathroom and took remedial action immediately. While the apartment is not fully renovated, it does have a modern style kitchen, a large balcony with great views of Noosa Sound and it is clean and comfortable. There are photographs of the apartment on our website.
