We've stayed at The Art Series hotels previously, in particular, The Cullen in Prahran. We visited immediate family who live in very close proximity to the hotel. The Cullen is also very close to a wonderful shopping precinct, unique restaurants and cafes, and all transport options. Will definitely be staying again in mid-November.
I spent a week in Melbourne for a casual holiday. The staff were all amazing at all times of day and night. Great cleanliness and amenities. Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. In room dining was a bit expensive, but this was a add on feature to the room and not controlled by the place.
The hotel has great rooms with space and apartment facilities. The artwork is bold and fun. Rooms have nespreso coffee machine and kitchen facilities. No on-site breakfast is a disappointment for me. The bar Cafe out the front is currently closed. Staff polite and efficient.
Stayed overnight. No issues with room. Meal at hotel restaurant was good. Was sad there was no breakfast venue any more as there isn't much around that area unless you want to go to Greville street which is young hipster grungy edgy etc LOl doesn't really cater for business type people or people like me from out of town over 40 from what I recall as lived in area over 50 years.
First time I've stayed here, but it won't be the last. The rooms were nice and large, beds very comfy, room amenities amazing, hotel very clean and staff exceptionally friendly. The hotel is well located to shops and good restaurants.
Fabulous place to stay!! Great location, great room, great staff - fabulous art!! Came for a weekend and greeted by wonderful staff! The room was beautifully appointed with great art work on the walls! Big comfy bed and pillows! Will be back!!!
The Cullen is fantastic. The location is fantastic and the people / staff are wonderful. The room is very comfortable and the amenities are good. The location is perfect for food and entertainment and easy access for ubers
Had a fabulous stay at the Cullen, located in the heart of Prahran, a short tram ride to the Art Centre and the heart of Melbourne. Greatly enjoyed the Picasso Exhibition at the NGV. The Cullen is a short walk from the fabulous Chapel Street, home to fantastic restaurants, bars and great shopping. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and functional. The staff at the Cullen are super friendly and welcoming.
We were refugees from a plane cancellation. Jetstar booked us in. We arrived exhausted, with a three year old at about 10.00pm, having spent 4 hours at the airport to arrange a rescheduled flight in two days! The staff were friendly, sympathetic and good humoured, offering us the standard bottle of wine. Parking below the hotel was easy and FREE. The Wi-Fi was good and our room was perfect for our needs, with a lovely view of the city. There were cooking facilities which we didn’t use and a dishwasher. It is a Art Hotel featuring Adam Cullen of the grunge genre. Not my choice but c’est la vie! I would stay there again and recommend it with 5 stars. Thank you Jetstar and The Cullen for making our two day holiday postponement, a pleasure.
We loved the location of this hotel, the size of the rooms and staff were great. We realise that staffing is an issue at the moment however our room was not cleaned to a satisfactory level. it hadn't been vacuumed prior to us taking the room. Once we noticed this I guess that prompted us to look ore closely at the cleaning and realised that the cleaning was substandard all through the room. The edges of the carpet against the wall were dusty and messy, behind the entry hadn't been cleaned in some time, the lounge was covered in spills and generally soiled and had actually been moved to cover mess on the carpet. This led us to wonder how clean the bathroom and toilet were? Whilst we understand that staffing is tight at the moment we don't think it is reasonable to charge guests a full room rate and then deliver substandard conditions. I would suggest closing off a portion of rooms until you have the staff to service them. This was a pity because we mostly enjoyed our stay. The room size is really good, the linen and bed was good and the location superb.…
