We stayed for one night at the inn. We stayed in one of the attic rooms which was absolutely tiny, but filled with character and charm. The whole place is great. Have kitchenette downstairs to make tea and coffee if required, fridge etc. There was a lovely open fire burning which added to the cosy feeling. There is also lounge... More

Warm friendly professional staff, 5 star service, all our needs were anticipated, a kitchenette with superb teas, wine glasses Etc. Good value too. Generous, and interesting breakfast served in the historic sunroom overlooking veges and rustic garden scenes. Dinner was surprisingly gourmet, with carefully prepared complex ingredients sourced locally and lovingly presented. We arrived impromptu and couldn't be more satisfied.... More

We stayed at Merrijig Inn last December & made the booking direct with Merrijig. We had a lovely large room overlooking the garden and enjoyed our stay so much we decided to return for another 3 day stay using booking.com.This time we were allocated an inferior room consisting of a tiny sitting area where we had to rearrange furniture to watch... My wife and I stayed in this hotel one night on a B&B basis but we also had dinner too. Merrijig apparently is renowned for its food. It was excellent and only cost about $150 Aus for 2 including wine. The hotel is a cosy affair with rooms and suites off a couple of guest lounges. The decor is Hobbitesque... More

Staff very helpful nice location close to town. We had the suite which after a long day on the road was very private and suited our needs both on arrival and when we returned after the meal. Good restaurant recommendations and supplied a torch for the walk. Breakfast good and like most places we ate in Australia was big.

Staff is very friendly. The Inn is a small property, owners pride themselves on being the first Inn in Victoria. Rooms certainly have character. Breakfast was yummie. Overall this establisment made me feel welcome. Minor minus: the WiFi was not working properly.

The Merrijig Inn is a lovely Bed & Breakfast in a quaint historic building in the small historic town of Port Fairy. It is about a 5 minute walk to downtown Port Fairy from the Merrijig Inn and it is located across from the scenic Moyne River with the boats moored along it. Try the bar at the front of... More

As always, the Merrijig Inn remains what it has been for some time - a quiet, character filled haven- a retreat to the past in all its glory- open fires, comfortable lounge chairs, books, magazines, a cottage garden replete with stylish chickens and a kitchen garden. Breakfast in the sunlit conservatory with superior coffee and tasty food. A position unequalled... More

Very Friendly hosts (Sue) and a great location. The room we had was extremely tidy and comfortable. The excellent breakfast was varied including a lot of homemade wholesome food, catering for many tastes.

We have just had another stay at Merrijig Inn, possibly on of the nicest places at which we have stayed - and were given our favourite room which opens onto the lawn and kitchen garden! Breakfast in the conservatory was lovely - and plentiful - and dinner is a must as the chef changes the menu daily, featuring local produce... More
