Beautiful location and surrounds. However as soon as we got into the Riverbank cottage we were quickly disappointed. The state of the cottage was abysmal. Our first encounter included the discovery of a toenail on the lounge room floor followed by another toenail in one of the made single beds. On the first night as we were filling up the...

Stayed at riverbank cottage where the septic tank was overflowing and created a lovely smell when on the back deck. The water comes straight from the river and is brown when you fill the bath. On arrival we found toenails on the floor ,the appliances were faulty ,bedrooms are upstairs with no ensuite so you have to negotiate the stairs...

We stayed in the Rose Cottage which was quite cosy with a running stream outside and a wood fire. But could have done with more heating especially the bathroom. And a little more detail to dust and cobwebs but otherwise it was a great stay

Fantastic. The only thing is you can't get wifi so I suffered. But it was worth it. Clean, beautiful setting. Rambling creek out the back and front of the property. King parrots, kookaburras, some sort of green bird, a black/blue bird. Great to feed. But take your toiletries with you. Would recommend staying here.

Stayed for 4 days, thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing stay, the house was warm and inviting, clean and beautifully maintained. The surrounding area was calming and beautiful, would recommend to anyone wishing to get away from the urban rat race.

We loved this place. It's a mixture between old and new, sometimes a bit more on the old side. The houses are simple but have all what you need. They are pretty offline, no phone reception and the promised internet in the central place never worked. But being offline seemed like a good idea there anyway.

We loved this accommodation from start to finish. Amazing tranquil location in the rural area near Lorne. The Riverdale cottage was amazing - more than enough space for 4 adults and a toddler. If you want hustle, shopping, glitz, bar life, stay somewhere else...but if you want quaint charm, rustic setting with birds and kangaroos as your neighbours this is...

In short this rural and (very) rustic idyll is ideal for those who want to escape the bustle of peak-season Lorne but want to be close enough to take easy advantage of the beautiful beach and other amenities of this wonderful Victorian sea-side town. If you are looking for a quiet getaway to be 'at one' with nature (complete with...
