Fantastic location to be able to walk down to the most beautiful beach. It was too cold for swimming but great foe walking along the beach. Unfortunately we were not able to walk to Diamond Island. The penguins arrived around 9:00pm and it was such a delight to be able to experience this. Our accommodation was very comfortable and clean.... More

We stayed here last year and the place was in dire need of attention but going back this year a lot of work has gone into improving the units. It was very clean, just been repainted, bed comfortable and self contained. The owner and staff were great ( Jamie the owner was wonderful) and was happy to stop and have... More

We stayed for 4 nights this week. Was pleasantly surprised with the room and view on initial inspection. First night the room was serviced and then nothing for the rest of the stay. My husband had to go up to the office at 7am in the rain to give us toilet paper. Other than that, the room was nice. Large... More

Stayed here with my family, this place has got to be one of the best locations in Bicheno, perfect private beach, penguins walk past your room at night, plenty of grass for the kiddies to run around. Whilst the owner doesn't have the best customer service the staff at the resort are super friendly. It is a little frustrating as... More

This could be such a great place to stay but is lacking a great deal of TLC. Our room was clean, tidy but lacked things like a clock, nets at the patio window - this overlooked the large garden area where people walked etc so if you had a shower you had to close the curtains or dry and dress... A great little resort perfectly located for exploring Freycinet National Park & the Bay of Fires. Independent & well-equipped self-catering units, perfect for couples or families, with plenty of outdoor space & a private beach. There is also a restaurant, bar, swimming pool & small spa on site. Every evening, guests can go down to the private viewing platform to... More

This was our 2nd visit to Diamond Island and once again could not fault the service. TV remote didn't work however that was quickly rectified. No complaints about the room at all. We could see more work had been done on the outside of some of the units since our last visit - clearly it is a work in progress.

We stayed here with our Aussie friends, a couple who are great wildlife enthusiasts and planned a superb trip around Tasmania this October using their knowledge from previous trips. They picked this resort because the Fairy Penguins troop in from the sea after dark and waddle right past the viewing platform on the premises every night - and for no... More

Resort is located in a lovely spot with fantastic views but accommodation itself left a lot to be desired. Cleanliness was average, villa had an of putting odor. Appliances such as split system and toaster were broken.

The Diamond Island Resort is nice, not great. Most everything we needed for our stay was "available," but was on the plain and tired side. It's definitely time for the owners to renew and upgrade the homes...at least the one we stayed in. We were given a box to plug in at our unit to provide internet access. It never... More
