Loved the Abbey. Great for Catholic nostalgics and history buffs to visit - especially if you ever boarded in a convent. The building has been beautifully restored and contains many interesting prints and artefacts. New bathrooms (although you walk across a hallway to access your bathroom) are a modern blessing. The grounds are a delight and a bracing walk to... More

Abbey of the Roses was the most exquisite location for a quiet, mid-week escape. The grounds are impeccably kept and the furnishings in the magnificent home allow you to feel as though you have stepped back in time. Our Bavarian Room was stunning! We wanted to pause the world just for one day and our stay allowed us to do... More

We stayed at the Abbey on our way back to Brisbane from the Granite Belt. The Abbey is a historic convert converted into a boutique hotel. As a B&B it is brilliant and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We just loved it and will return in the future.

Our stay at The Abbey was just perfect in every way. Mark met us at the door and we step through the door and back in time 100 years. The Abbey is just gob smackingly beautiful and the attention to detail that both Mark and Sonia have given The Abbey is amazing. We stayed in the Bravarian room which is... More

Wonderful hospitality and great service - just a lovely place to stay. This was a special return visit and did not disappoint. Supper was perfect in a private dining room and the grounds were looking wonderful in the late autumn sunshine weekend.

Wonderful experience, beautiful rooms. Very welcoming owners. Good home cooking. A great location for exploring the region and sampling all the wineries in the surrounding areas. The abbey is steeped in history and is well illustrated throughout.

We had the hightea and tour of Abbey of the Roses. Sonia couldn't do enough for us,the food was delicious and the service excellent. Mark gave us a tour of the manor, what a magnificent building and so much history. We will be returning and this time staying at the manor. I can't wait.
