There is a certain arrogance by the people who run this place. Set hours of operation which aren't that accommodating and plenty of rules to adhere to. Our unit was overpriced and pretty basic , despite the cost, but the worst part was it wasn't that clean. Whoever cleans it, appears to do a quick wipe over but not much else. They seem to have a monopoly on the area, and the reason we stayed here was because we were doing the Great North Walk. The next morning I intended to see someone in the office but of course there was no one there until about 2 hours after we left. Try to avoid it if you can.

We are temporary visa holders who are in Australia for a limited timeframe. We booked a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney with the hopes of seeing Australia before we leave. After almost 6 months in Melbourne lockdown, we used our savings on this trip. When the borders shut down for Victorians we contacted them, explained our situation. Their reply was “NSW is still open” even though there was no way for us to visit without being trapped in NSW. After Sydney went into a lockdown, and multiple emails later they offered a voucher out of “kindness” on their part. They are aware of our situation and would not budge. Out of 6 of our road trip bookings they were the ONLY company that would not offer a full or partial refund. Beyond disgusted by this company. I would hope that they would have at least shown understanding in our situation. Even quoting ACC that they should work WITH consumers to reach a desirable conclusion would have been nice. Stay far away!

This place was so much better when National Parks & Wildlife ran it. Similar to other people on here, we had to cancel due to COVID last year. In good faith I told them to keep my payment in advance for this year (we have been regular long term visitors). Now that Discovery have taken over the management of the park, the manager there is rude & condescending. They would firstly not honour the credit (which is contrary to the law) and then said they wanted a longer booking period for me to be able to use it. So in short, they've just lost ANOTHER regular customer (seems to be happening a bit based on the reviews I'm reading here) - I've been coming for the past 20 years. The surrounding national park is beautiful though - so I highly recommend staying in accommodation nearby if you can get some. Just save yourself the hassle here.

Always stay here but sites are getting very expensive. $55 a night powered. Run by Discovery parks now but still owned by national parks. Basic amenities but clean and everything works. Set in lovely bush with lots of wildlife. They have had security issues so now lock the access gate to Plassey road. so you have to leave when walking past near the main entrance so has added a bit more to walking to north ryde station if you are at the other end of the park. Staff were helpful and friendly and man in a golf buggy often does checks around the park through the day.

This is a stunning location and a fantastic place to base yourselves if you’re travelling to Sydney. We stayed here over Easter and so the place was pretty busy and as I discovered going through a change of operators. The wildlife is literally all around you and we really enjoyed the access to the National Park where I could walk and run. The only negatives on this trip were that the cleanliness wasn’t great. There are Covid signs up, reminders to keep distance and spaces are numbered but the bathrooms were really grubby and the rubbish bins were overflowing at times. Additionally the toilet stalls were out of paper at times. It really just felt like the cleaning wasn’t a priority. I love Lane Cove and hope to stay again next time I’m passing through, but I’d also love to see the place being maintained more effectively.
