Stayed one night recently, room was very ordinary and worst part the air conditioning not working had to have sliding door facing pool area open to be able to breathe. Door lock broken on main door to room, looked like someone had tried to kick door in! Décor a bit tired and yes the sheets look like something from the... More

While the room is basically OK for a country motel, the things less than good include: Air Conditioning did not work properly, no spare power points (had to disconnect a light for my PC), door lock was damaged, couldn't get my newspaper order right over 5 days. The restaurant is OK but no better than the RSL which is half... More

This motel is over priced and quite old and run down. The night we stayed (Friday night) the restaurant was closed and we had to walk over a kilometres to the golf club. Bathroom fixtures are less than average, air conditioning does not work properly and the general comfort of the room is below average. For a three star motel... More

I booked this hotel mainly because I was staying here by myself and wanted a motel that included a restaurant so I didn't have to walk anywhere alone. When I booked the room it was advertised as having a restaurant and Austar. When I turned up (Saturday night) I was told the restaurant would be closed. This was annoying as... More

My wife and I stayed at the John Hunter during the Scone Racing Carnival. The motel is comfortable and did the job, as it was only a place to sleep. Only problem was the room smelled like a smokers lounge, and while my wife wasn't too worried, I was. Our room faced the New England Highway and with the doors... More

Was able to get into the room before it was turned over so we could get changed. Bed was comfortable. Good choice of tv channels. Breakfast was good, but a little over priced. Pleasant stay, would stay here again

We stayed in a family room and it had loads of space with a queen & 2 king singles. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We ordered room service from the in house restaurant and it was delicious. We would stay here again.

Room was comfortable and outdated (as per other reviewers). At $165 you probably expect better but due to mining they can charge this amount. Lounge was a Divan that was uncomfortable to sit on. Internet is by an external provider, thus you can't charge it to your room. Restaurant food was OK - nothing special except for very full wine... More

Overpriced and SO tired. Decor of 50s, needs a good clean. Bench tops marked with stains of age, timber around fridge rotting out. In wine area and provided corkscrew from 50s... Crockery, cutlery old and tired. Beds were comfortable, shower good but seriously go somewhere else.

As the title says this motel is ridicously over priced. Though the room was clean and tidy the fixtures were extremely dated. I arrived mid afternoon and the weather was quite warm so I decided to go to the pool, when i got to the pool area it was full of young miners yelling and swearing and drinking alcohol. I... More
