We chose this accommodation because of it's historical significance. The host and owner of the residence was a quirky as the accommodation...in a very nice way. He was very welcoming and gave us a quick spiel about the house. The home was the first home ever built in Leura circa 1880. Our room was warm and comfy. The weather when... More

Thank you for your warm review! Being of historic significance, we have tried to keep the decor of the house in the same theme. Yes it is not modern but comfortable. We do get a lot of responses along the line of "It feels like my grandma's house! There is no other house like "Leura House" on the mountains See... More

The stay here was for the experience of the grand old building & it's heritage. So even though it's old, the comforts of sheets being crisp & white & towels soft & clean were just as they should be. Rooms are nice & warm - it's great for families. Gary is a great host & most helpful and attentive. We... More

My overall impression of Leura House is that it is run on a very very tight budget. We don't mind old fashioned furnishings and style, nor do we mind cracked windows, patched up basins, very worn carpet etc (room 2). However, it is the little things that are letting Leura House down. For example, if it is cold, put the... More

Thank you for your viewpoint. Rooms are serviced if the Service cards are put out; we are a guest house and not a motel. People have different expectations for what they want for breakfast. The house is always heated but I suppose how much heat depends on if you are from Queensland or Tasmania!! There are no terse notes; just... More

Thank you so much for your kind words While we cannot please everyone who stays here, we are always pleased when guests enjoy staying at our home. While not the most modern, it is comfortable, historic, close to the shops and on the quiet side of town Thank you once again and look forward to your return visit! Garry More

Good size well lighted bedrooms with on suites and heating, TV etc. The lounge is very comfortable with books and games supplied if required, bring your own drinks if you want to pre dinner indulge before walking 10minutes into the village. The owner is a little eccentric but interesting and informative when he appears here there and everywhere from nowhere.... More

Thank you for your review! Yes I usually appear from everywhere! Not one to sit in an office all day I am always doing something in our home and making sure everything is ok! Maybe being eccentric comes with old age, I did not know! Yes our breakfast is basic, continental during the week and a cooked breakfast on weekends.... More

An amazing place to stay for the authentic Blue Mountains experience 10/10. Gary is a fantastic host and the room was very nice and comfortable. Don't expect super mod cons, it's a cottage feel with beautiful landscapes and views to boot!

We have stayed at Leura house for three days and can highly recommend the place! Myself, my wife and my 4 years old absolutely adored the place. It is located in peaceful surroundings, has a beautiful backyard with an outdoor setting and a slide. Short stroll to Leura, with its cafes and boutique shops. Stayed there for a night in the Blue Mountains. Very lovely welcome and the house is worth the stay. Not a new modern hotel, but just great with perfect service. In the morning we had a breakfast made by the owner. Watch out, there are some rooms with shared bathroom. But even this was OK, as we knew it before.... More

I highly recommend Leura House. I stayed for the good part of a week in a self directed artist retreat and felt this lovely old home and garden was the perfect place. Gary accommodated my needs very well - so for me it was a 10 out of 10. Please know, it is old - things have a patina and... More
