My partner and I recently stayed here at the Fairmont Resort Hotel, Our arrival and check in effortless with freindly and informative staff , Resort facilities dining options clearly explained , Our room was very well presented a credit to the housekeeper, Room was spacious with all the expected amenities , issue with the shower - narrow , hard to get in and out of bath , bottles and spa holder obtrusive, In need of a refurbishment, adequately furnished bed was comfortable , Pool area a great place to get in a few laps or sit on the sauna with the option to get some sun outside, Grounds are great with lovely and well maintained gardens and the ponies very freindly, dinner at azzurro trattoria was a pleasure , staff freindly and efficient food of excellent quality and the dessert very well presented and delicious , An addition of a small elevator for less mobile guests or people with prams would be advantageous, We followed dinner with a visit to the whiskey tavern and an opportunity to try some special whiskey. There is options for other drinks cocktails and the like but we settled for the whiskey , service was great , staff freindly and efficient , Live music an added bonus but on the night it was too loud for our taste,

We stayed at the Fairmont Resort Blue Maintains as a base the explore the area. We stayed in room 434 which I think was a Superior King (we were upgraded) which had a great view over the valley. The room was large but a bit dated but had everything we needed. The resort is particularly good for a family with young kids with plenty of activities for them to do. We ate at the Embers Grill Restaurant and found the meals to be a very good. We also went to the Two Doctors Whiskey Bar. Unfortunately, it is not open every night but on Thursday night they have an open mic night with some good performances when we were there. The staff we met were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a good stay.

Returning visitors. Grounds are still stunning. Customer service lacking - unfamiliar with layout of rooms, all restaurants fully booked, wrong items delivered for room service. One lift operational. Housekeeping trolleys lined the halls all times of day. Room was small, not enough towels, dirty carpet, stickers on walls, chipped tiles, chipped paint. Buffet breakfast was filthy, dirty spoons tipped in with clean, snotty kids touching fruit and putting it back in bowl, tables not wiped, waited at ‘please wait to be seated’ sign for 15mins then told to sit where we like. Needs a major overhaul, which I thought would have happened with the recent plan for renovation.

Our room offered great views of the Blue Mountains, providing a serene backdrop to our mornings. The facilities for children were top-notch. From pools, ice-skating rink, mirror maze, horse riding, arcades and movie cinema. There was never a dull moment. The expansive grounds of the resort allowed for plenty of space to explore, take leisurely walks, and just relax in the great outdoors. We truly appreciate how this resort caters to every age, making it a perfect family getaway. We can't wait to make more memories here next year.

Stayed here with redballoon voucher. Front office staff was friendly and informative. Most of the restaurants were not open. Only fine dining and jamisons, but we ended up having dinner at sublime lounge. The menu needs a bit of improvement. There are not many options. The staff of the lounge was helpful and friendly. The resort territory is beautiful to have a walk around. The indoor pool is a good amenity, although in winter it is not heated much. They have sauna and jacuzzi as well. Breakfast was OK, they have many options to choose from. The staff clears tables right away. Rooms are outdated. There was no tea in the room, and I had to ask front desk to supply some tea bags. When we asked for extra shower gel, housekeeping staff brought it shortly and was very friendly.

We were in the 2 bed Sublime Suite which was large and comfy but disappointed that it had no walk in shower. My father in law stayed for 2 nights next door and so I used his rainshower. Our room had an odd drains smell in it which came and went. The toilet in the master can do with a good clean. When I had a bath I could see a lot of dirt under the seat. The cleaning staff were super cheery unlike the breakfast staff who looked miserable and couldn't clean tables efficiently for the demand. The food was average buffet. The reception staff also were poor, upon check in my daughter didn't receive her duck. When I checked out my father-in-law the staff member was trying to check me out too, even though we had another night. He was also useless when trying to book activities for children too the day before. Embers restaurant - when I booked online I asked about a birthday cake but heard nothing so got a local lady to supply one for $70. I had to argue with the staff to get a table for our group of 8 in the cozy restaurant, instead of the allocated one in the breakfast room next to a noisy family group. I had a babysitter booked and wanted an adult evening to relax with friends. Eventually they agreed. The service was terrible and I had to go to the bar to get served drinks. The food and atmosphere were the redeeming feature. The kids facilities are excellent and our 4 year old had fun, although sadly the pony ride was cancelled due to the weather.

The Fairmont is very dated and in need of some serious love and a good renovation! My room was dirty i found hair in the bath tub. The lounge in the room was seriously ripped. Also - breakfast was cold and not fresh. It’s a great little business it just needs an upgrade!

Lovely Hotel I stayed for three nights with my Mum. The resort is huge with beautiful grounds and many areas to explore. Our room 134, was a courtyard twin which was very nice and the view onto the southern lawns was wonderful. Unfortunately our room was located next door to a room that was a dog friendly room, 132. The guests had a dog which continually barked and this disturbed us. We had dinner the first night at The Leura Golf Club and we were very impressed by the staff and meals were cooked to perfection. When we returned to the hotel, I went to reception to ask if it would be possible to change rooms because of the dog barking next door. The night manager was very obliging and although the same room type was unavailable I was offered 2 other room types. I was able to view both and decided on taking a 2 bedroom suite for a supplemental fee. There was a lot of families with children even on weekdays (outside of school holidays) as this hotel has a many activities on offer for children to enjoy. Breakfast at Jamison’s was excellent with all the usual offerings, both cold and hot. Service staff were excellent in keeping all food items topped up. All of the hotel staff that we encountered were professional and pleasant. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss but as with all hospitality businesses the recovery from Covid shutdowns is challenging with getting staff trained and up to standard. Not a problem for us. Parking was a challenge at times and we found that each time we returned from outings that the top 3 levels were full. Only 5 mobility impaired spaces seemed low for such a big hotel. We have now stayed in the past five years at The Hydro Majestic, Lilianfels and The Carrington hotel. Fairmont Resort wins for us hands down for comfort, luxury and accommodations. We have rebooked for a stay next February to celebrate my Mum’s 92nd birthday.

Negatives: Overpriced rooms that are tired and run down. Restaurant very expensive- $50-$70 for a main which was just a piece of meat, nothing else whatsoever so had to pay extra for vegetables. Bread was horrible. Supermarket bread would be better. Ridiculous rules- the only area with beautiful view and open fire closed until dinner time so can’t even have a drink and enjoy the view. Positives: It is a beautiful location with beautiful views and lots for kids to do. As a result there are thousands of children here, which is fine if you are travelling with children but maybe not great for older people.

I’ll start with saying it is rare for me to write a negative review, but I felt the review is important got resort to be aware of and considering guests to know. I’ve visited the Fairmont about 5 times in the last 30 years. It has truly changed from a classy, refined establishment to a tired, 3 star resort (that charges and rates itself as 4 star) It truly felt like the powers that run this show are taking the mickey, capitalising on those still willing to pay high prices for sub standard quality. The place is still great for very young families as there are no good alternatives in the mountains for getting away to a place that suits young kids. But for anyone else not in that category take your hard earned money elsewhere. Points of disappointment included: *Rooms are looking tired, furniture peeling, carpet stained, some power points not working, no info book, used milk in fridge, personal card from management welcoming guest seemed a nice touch but name was someone else…. * Pool area, both spas outside were not functioning (emptied of water) though hotel fully booked to the brim. Was dreaming of the outdoor spa before coming. No option to order a drink from pool area and no staff around *Restaurants - Azzure, service was not good - delivered by a well meaning young team but need training. My wine arrived after my meal was finished, questions about the menu couldn’t be answered, both risottos ordered ( two different kinds) were not of good quality, too al dente and not a true risotto. Concierge- no one one arrival to assist with bags Good points - Food in the walk in bar was good, service was good. Embers - we went for dessert and drink. Great service. Asked for hot choc to be made hotter (oddly cool) and instead of re hearing which were more than happy for, they made new ones. Concierge when found was friendly and offered good tips The bones of the resort are still there and beautiful, fire places, architecture, grounds all stunning. Bushwalking straight from the resort is great. This was for a friend and mines 50th and long awaited. Unfortunately wouldn’t come again which is sad because I have had many wonderful memories at the Fairmont over the years. Owners of the resort should be doing a lot better and perhaps looking at international standards of 4 star resorts.
