Recently stayed mid week and had a great time. Colonial rooms were great, bed comfortable, room clean and very cosy. Watched the State of Origin in the lounge with big fire. Staff friendly, newspapers available and food and bar very reasonable as was breakfast. Mid-week special made it great value for money .Will be back next winter as a great... More

After spending three weeks in New Zealand and Australia we decided to end our trip with a visit to the Blue Mountains. We were getting homesick, so we were a bit harder to impress. After spending our first night at a very ordinary place we walked to Katoomba and saw The Carrington Hotel. Not only is it the centerpiece of... More

The Carrington takes you back to the turn of the Century with its beautiful decore, furniture and ambience. Our second floor room was spacious, huge comfy bed and antique furniture added to the charm.Bathroom was adequate-huge soft towels, although the spa bath is a white elephant and a hassle to get in and out of.Buffet breakfast, which was included in our package, has a great... Called in for a quiet drink and a look around, waited at the bar with the other 10 people whilst the one barman, who was trying his best, struggled to serve the waiting crowd, the other barman casually cleaned glasses at a pedestrian pace whilst we all stood there looking at him?!? the manager came in and suggested he helped... Stayed this weekend at The Carrington and enjoyed the Yulefest. Lady Carrington Suite was very roomy, well laid out and, like the rest of the hotel, had a yesteryear ambience. The hotel is old and creaks which only adds to its charms but some TLC is needed around the place - noticeable issues include flaking paint from the ceilings. But... More

We spent a great two nights in this historic hotel. The tone is set as you walk up the stairs leading to the front verandah and through to the hotel reception. The decor is warm and the staff were welcoming. We had booked three rooms for three couples for a weekend stay. The booking included a Christmas in July dinner... More

Called into this lovely iconic hotel with friends for cocktails, dessert and coffees on a Saturday night during the start of yulefest. We asked if we could order some sweets and was told that nothing was available as they are only catering for the guests in the dining room for yulefest which was disappointing. We did enjoy a cocktail and... More

Dear donnaa772, We are pleased to hear that you were able to enjoy the Hotel and it's environment. I have investigated this matter and can assure you that while we do not have desserts available via the cocktail bar, coffees and liqueur coffees are definitely available as per the promoted display. The manager on duty on the evening also discovered... More

Our daughter held her wedding here in winter and it is a fabulous venue. The old world charm of the hotel added to the fabulousness of the occassion. The location is great - so close to the station. The parking is an issue but there is under cover parking which is poorly signposted... follow the signs for disabled access. We... More

If you're looking for ultra-fast broadband, American style porter service, hi-tech gadgets or a power shower & heated towel rails, then this is not the place for you! It's hey-day was in the 1920/30s, and this is the era you are immediately transported to as you glide through the marvellous front conservatory. There was no spa nor any evening restaurrant... More
