Absolutely disgusting, it's a shame as the staff are all really lovely. But the Place literally stinks and the floors are filthy. It's completely infested with bed bugs you can literally see them crawling about. Everyone is covered in bites it just seemed to be the norm. I have stayed in hostels all over Asia for penny's and never came...

I came here with two friends and stayed 7 nights over Christmas and New year. It was by far the worst hostel I have stayed at in the 10 months I have been travelling. Firstly there was 7 people crammed into a tiny room with no lockers, fan or air con so it was uncomfortably hot. The balcony outside our...

Keep in mind if you book that this is in fact a hostel, that means shared accommodation and often loud. This place is literally right across the street from the beach, so lovely. Staying here definitely made my time in Sydney more memorable with the beach time. I found it to be clean and the staff was helpful. For a...

My friend and I booked in to stay at the hostel for a week. We left after 2 nights it was that bad and were not refunded. We have stayed in many hostels and this one is by far the worst. We noticed many people leaving during our short stay here and everyone we spoke to was having a bad...

Awesome location. Right by the beach and right by all the good restaurants and bars! They also have many things to do or rent out. Also a great place to find work. Awesome workers and people that are staying there

I am sorry about the bad review. But this place is really nasty. Everything is so dirty and smells really bad. There was no soap in the bathroom and some of the door lockers were broken. Staff was okay. Can't tell anything about the breakfast. Did never eat there because the kitchen was disgusting as well. Locating is nice but...

An excellent beach , sister to Bondi beach up the road and with that becoming a popular destination for all. The Surfside is located on the seafront on top of a Maccas. This is a brilliant place with amenities , breakfast and some great people. One of the highlights of NSW and a must for anyone. Well suited to social...

The people that give this hostel anything more than a one star are either very naive or very drunk and have no recollection of their stay. The rooms are filthy, the bathrooms are disgusting, I've travelled the world and can honestly say this is the worst place I've ever stayed. God forbid anything ever happened here as safety rules are...

- RUDE staff - 3$ compulsory to pay for the "cleaning" - no ladder at the bunk beds, you need climbing skills - very BAD cereals at the FREE BREAKFAST - NO POTS just pans in the kitchen - the stove takes literally 25mins to get hot - you can SEE small COCKROACH wandering around the kitchen - no WI-FI...

Staying in Coogee

Neighborhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
