This was a short notice visit when the weather was dodgy (snow & ice) ahead of us and it was an unavoidable stop in an otherwise very, very quiet town. The room was basic, but good value nonetheless. The staff were available when common sense suggested, although not always, but did everything they could to make our enforced stay a... More

An overnight stay in Queenstown on business recently made me want to return. The rooms are basic but comfortable, but the restaurant is outstanding! Beautiful local produce, including salmon and wallaby, and desserts that were a work of art as well as so so delicious, and to top it all off wonderful service, a good wine list and an open... More

You couldn't miss Silver Hills Motel if you tried !! It's bright Orange and Gray stand out in the back drop of Green Tree covered hill behind. Overlooking Queenstown from big panoramic windows is a treat. We stayed 2 nights and served as a good base for our adventures. The rooms are very comfortable and although the ground floor rooms... Stayed here for 3 very cold wet wintery nights but wouldn't have known it was that bad outside except I could hear the rain on the roof!! Very warm comfortable room. Really comfy queen bed and enough room to have desk space a comfy lounge chair and a microwave with tea & coffee facilities. Bathroom is not fancy but very... More

Whilst the rooms are still very old and in need of upgrading the restaurant this time offered a buffet dinner which was a huge improvement from my previous visit when I waited 2 1/2 hours for a meal that was terrible. This time food was freshly prepared with good choices. A big improvement indeed.

Not bad if you're passing through and need a room for the night, but not sure if it would be a place I would stay for a few days. The rooms are basic and very old school, but overall it's not bad for what it is.

Room 34 was disgusting. The unit smelt damp, the shower dripped, the tapes could be heard all though the units . The shower base was the worse we had ever seen. The walls and the carpet was revolting, discolored and very dirty. Wouldn't use the laundry. As we had booked weeks before and traveled a long way we were very... More

We stayed for one night whilst traveling between Hobart and Strahan. As we wanted to go on the train the following morning it made sense not to travel down to Strahan and back. I am not sure what other people are complaining about regarding cost and location. Even though it was wet and foggy the town still held its charm... More

Good comfortable bed, nice clean rooms, great view, helpful friendly staff. The food at the restaurant is amazing, be careful, the portions are larger than we expected and desert defeated me, wow! Would recommend this one. And we stayed 2 nights.
