Took my mum for a 2 night break and she said it was the nicest hotel she had stayed in. Friendly check in, fabulous spacious suite. Comfortable beds and so lovely to have a separate bath. Great dinner, good choice and well cooked. Lovely Yorkshire breakfast. The staff in this hotel are so friendly, pleasant and efficient they really are an asset to the hotel.

Upon arrival I though I had hit the jackpot. Beautiful looking country hall hotel And fantastic gardens - that’s where it ended Evening meal - onglet steak - 4 strips of steak over cooked with oven chips and packet sauce Bedroom - mattress was well work in - could feel the floor boards it was that thin - the tv needed a telescope to see it being that small and that far away Breakfast - one item of everything apart from toast you got 6 but only 4 butter The staff were friendly however one particularly a little snooty as I had a polo shirt on - despite me being an exec of a business.

Excellent hotel, lovely grounds and ample safe parking. A grand old house, set back with its own long drive from the road. Beautiful location, remote enclosed grounds perfect for exercising our dogs with us who also stayed the night. Superb food in the evening and for breakfast. Very attentive staff. Would not hesitate to return. Great find.

We spent two nights here on a break in our journey home. The hotel is in a lovely setting and we had a great view from our window. The staff were extremely friendly, from the smiling receptionist who greeted us to the barman who was also busy training new recruits. We didn't meet the chef but enjoyed the excellent food in the restaurant. We are looking forward to returning.

I booked Solberge hall after viewing images of large rooms, big beds, baths inside the rooms and was expecting a luxury stay. When we arrived we were greated by a man wearing a tracksuit, who was friendly and helpful but didnt look very professional. The car park was all but emtpty and i dont believe that there could have been many other guests. He should us to our room, which as it turned out was one of the smallest in the hotel (after reviewing the fire escape drawing). The bed was a double, but not the 4 poster advertised, and the room had been left with 1 towel, and 1 cup for tea/coffee (the gentleman on reception did replace these at our request). The bed was not only tiny but also uncomfortable, coupled with fact that the heating was left on all night... the window had to be wedged open with a spare toilet roll to get some fresh air in. The next morning and after being told the restaurant hadnt reopened after lockdown, i was still expecting to receive a decent breakfast. We were served 2 brown bags containing a small carton of orange juice, a yogart, a cereal bar and a dry croissant in a packet. This was a very poor after being fully charged for breakfast. After my disappointing breakfast i went for a shower. The water dribbled out from the shower head which looked like it had seen better days. I had booked the hotel as a treat for my girlfriend, and as we have decided to return to the area on a new date we can categorically say we won't be staying at Solberge hall
