We have been staying at the Reef House for 22 years. We love the fact that it still has all its charm and history. Not much has changed except the rooms are more beautifully decorated all the little touches and inclusions make it more of a 5 star experience. Some of the little touches include complimentary wine tasting & cocktail making classes, cold refreshment towels at 11AM around the pool, the complimentary sorbet handed out around the pool at 3pm and of course the punch and canapés at 5pm. 3 days a week you can meet lovely Norm who serves the punch in the Brigadier Lounge. He has been working at the Reef House in various capacities for 20 years or so, he is a charming man. We also had the pleasure of speaking with a Marine Biologist Dr Glen Burns who comes to do presentations at the Reef House. It was more like a fascinating conversation, his knowledge and stories made for a very informative and fabulous afternoon. If you have the chance, you definitely should speak with him. The Day Spa is also worth a visit they offer beautiful treatments. Jasmine is fantastic and you will come out feeling so relaxed as is you are floating on cloud 9. The Reef House always reminds us of Raffles Singapore with its charming colonial feel, its 5 star attention to detail and the continuation of beautiful old traditions like the honesty bar and the punch and canapé’s. All the staff are wonderful and the service and food is simply fantastic. We chose to dine at The Reef House most of the time as the Chefs do an outstanding job, the food and service never disappoints. On that note we would like to thank some staff, although unfortunately, we can’t remember all their names. First and foremost Cédric Lootvoet (luxury concierge), he is charming and very welcoming. Cédric is really the face of The Reef House making sure everyone is happy and enjoying their stay and made to feel special. Wayne Harris (GM), it was lovely to talk to him on check out, and heart warming that he wanted to know our thoughts on our stay and our overall experience. We would also like to thank Joel the sommelier. He hosts a wonderful and informative wine tasting experience and at dinner time he is very good at finding a wine to either match the menu or that suits your individual tastes. We love the wonderful service from everyone and how international it is with all the staff either from Australia and all around the world like France, Spain, Italy, Japan and in fact Mayumi one of the Japanese waitresses was so sweet and engaging it was a pleasure to speak with her every morning. Thank you for an amazing stay we can’t wait to return.

This was part of our honeymoon adventure in Australia. We had arrived at The Reef House after spending 5 days prior in the hustle and bustle tourist hub of Sydney. Upon our arrival at the Reef House, which we had arranged transport from Cairns Airport, we were greeted with an iced tea and citrus-infused cool towel. It was the perfect solution to help combat the 95 degree+ temperatures and humid weather. The front desk staff was friendly, and provided us with two keys. We arrived to our room and found robes, a cheese/cracker tray, and a bottle of champagne. Probably to help us celebrate our special occasion. Our room also had a whirlpool jacuzzi and a kitchenette - both outside and covered under our private veranda. Our room also had a small refrigerator. The Reef House offers two pools - one of which is for adults only. They also have their own spa available and I partook in a couples massage. It was far too hot for us to truly enjoy the whirlpool & jacuzzi so we did not do that. Since this was our longest leg of the trip, and also in the middle of our honeymoon, we elected to do some laundry by hand, and we hung up some clothes outside to dry. Around the Reef House, there are many restaurants, a pharmacy, and a convenience store. And, of course, the Pacific Ocean as Palm Cove sits along part of Australia's eastern coastline. Our hotel room included the breakfast buffet and we could upgrade to any menu item for AUD$15 if desired. Dinner options are available for those who have a rather sophisticated palette. They also offer pedal bicycles to take for a ride, and a wide array of DVDs to check out. The history of the Reef House is quite interesting, and would recommend for you to read up on it if you have the opportunity. Overall, the staff is really nice and friendly, and don't be afraid to talk with other house guests.m

We have stayed in other accommodation in Palm Cove in the past, but with the Luxury Escapes Package of 5 nts it was too good to refuse! Our room was on the third floor, with a balcony overlooking the pool, and with the bar fridge located here, it was the ideal place to sit back with a drink in hand and relax. The location of the Hotel is very central, and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast as we never partake in Buffet style anyway. We added a Big Breakfast to the Continental, but I believe this is not readily promoted. It does cost extra, but well worth it, as the bacon was brilliantly flavoured and cooked to perfection along with the poached eggs. The punch and canapes served every evening was a nice touch, as was the lovely bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates on our arrival. Underground parking along with Guest's laundry was much appreciated. Congratulations to the dedication in trying to keep everyone safe re CV as there was a young man employed who continuously throughout the entire day wiped down chairs and tables around the pool plus glass gates etc. We look forward to returning when in your area again!
