Luxury gîtes and bed & breakfast rooms near Carcassonne in the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon region in the sunny South of France. Perched upon a lovely little hilltop, with 14 hectares of land surrounding the house and spectacular views of the Carcassonne valley and the Pyrenees is where you will be able to enjoy your stay and find attention to detail.Domaine the la Bade – A hidden gem in the sunny South of France!
We stayed in November and thoroughly enjoyed it. The gite was beautiful and the owners very welcoming. The area is picturesque and quiet but not too far from Carcassone for sightseeing and shopping. If we come to Carcassone again we won't stay anywhere else. Many thanks.

Really top quality gites with lovely views. Miranda and Joep were helpful and great to get on with. All our family had a super time, and the children loved the trampoline, pool and the fields where they could run about in safety, but you do need a car as it is 20 minutes walk to the nearest village.

The gites are located in a wonderful setting with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Our 1 bedroom gite, Limoux was modern, stylish, bright, airy and spotlessly clean. The facilities were excellent, everything you needed and more was included. Miranda and Joep are really warm and welcoming, very professional and always on hand to help, they've created a very special home from home which I would thoroughly recommend. The gites are also in a good location to explore the area around Carcassonne, the only downside being there are so many interesting places to see it's hard to fit into one holiday, giving us a great excuse to come back again. . .

We chose Domaine de la Bade because it just looked better quality than all the others, and we were not disappointed. It's even better than it looks in the pics. It occupies a beautiful, peaceful hillside setting with lovely gardens, the smell of lavender, sound of crickets and birdsong and open views across the countryside towards the Pyrenees. The gites are superb – full of rustic charm but with a stylish, contemporary twist. We stayed in the smallest one - Gite Limoux and it was more than plenty for the two of us - spacious, great big bed, well appointed and absolutely spotlessly clean. There's an abundance of lovely touches everywhere and every detail has really been thought about, from the great shower to the quality of the wooden spoons. Joep and Miranda were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, but at the same time they are happy to leave you in peace if that's what you're looking for. They live on site, but are unobtrusive and know how to be great hosts - perfect! Domaine de la Bade is more than their home - it's their baby – not just a holiday home that they let out to make some extra cash, they really care about the place and your holiday, and it shows in abundance. The location is great if you want to explore the area. It's central to towns and cities, countryside and coast and only a short and easy drive from the airport. There's loads to do around you, but the only downside is there is no bar or cafe within walking distance, which in fairness we wouldn't have even noticed had we not been totally spoiled by being the only guests for most of our stay at the end of their first season. So if you're reading this review because you're considering a stay, I would say don't hesitate - it won't be long before it's booked up!…

The sense of disappointment shared by all 5 of us to be leaving reflects the great time we had spending a week in a beautiful part of France - my wife had researched many properties before settling on Domaine de la Bade as our choice, and she was absolutely spot-on with her decision Joep and Miranda were very welcoming and ever-helpful hosts, having created a group of beautiful character-filled gites - well-appointed, spacious and homely The Tuesday-evening meal put on by Joep and Miranda was a lovely addition to the stay and it was a great opportunity to meet other guests and swap recommendations on places to visit in the local area (and the food and wine was very good too!) Another week would have been wonderful, but we left with wonderful memories of a lovely family holiday, which we would all happily do over again!…

Spent a week with the family at this beautiful gite. The location was perfect and the accomodation left nothing to be desired. The hosts, Miranda and Joep, go out of their way to make you feel at home. It is ideal to visit little villages and markets and explore Cathar country with all its historical sites. .Highly recommended, in fact we will have to go back ourselves!

Miranda and Joep have created a wonderful collection of holiday homes here in this unspoilt corner of France. We stayed in the largest Gite - the house for 2 weeks and had a superb holiday. The house is stunning, lovingly converted, has EVERYTHING you would need and Miranda and Joep very helpful in enabling us to get the best from our time there. Thanks to them we found restaurants and other places off the main tourist trail which was just what we wanted. Mirepoix is worth a visit especially on Monday market day and the Canal du Midi was fabulous especially the electric boat hire at Bram. Carcassonne itself was like a magnet - we made 4 visits to La Cite at different times of the day! Joep is a great chef and we thoroughly enjoyed the weekly Table d'Hote meals with other guests. We met people from all over the world and enjoyed the wonderful food as well as great company. Thank you to Miranda and Joep for your hospitality and for creating a little bit of Heaven in Southern France! We will be back!…

Visited Domaine de la Bade in August as part of a group of 6 staying in the 8 person gite. The accommodation and grounds are beautiful and very well kept. Our accommodation was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean and spacious. The house contains everything you may need from cooking utensils to board games! The grounds are located in the beautiful French countryside. The view from the swimming pool is particularly breathtaking. Miranda and Joep are fantastic hosts who can offer very valuable advice and information about the area. We decided to partake in the meal cooked by Joep home self, which was beautifully prepared and delicious - well worth a try! The night consisted of great food, drink and company. They also offer a breakfast service at a small charge providing fresh croissants, bread etc which can be delivered to your gite the following morning at a small cost. We hope to visit again very soon. Thank you once again for a fantastic holiday. …

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Domain de la Bade, the views are amazing and the spacious accommodation was spotlessly clean. Miranda and Joep are lovely people and have lots of information about the area. They are wonderful hosts and one of the highlights of the holiday was when Joep cooked for us all and we had a very memorable evening. I wish we were still there.
