This was going to be our final "driving" vacation after 10 years of living in Europe. I did my research on Tripadvisor and booked several chateaus along a route that would take us from Luxembourg to Brittany and back. Our second night, I chose Chateau La Rametier. When I made the reservation, it stated that dinner was not an option.... More

Totally impressed with French hospitality! The Chateau is in horse country with a warm and welcoming host. Our room was on the second floor facing the front of the chateau. We had some traffic noise from the highway but the beautiful view made us not care about it. The size of the room was immense and the decorating throughout was... More

Couple from Hong Kong. This is a pleasant chateau with an kind host (and three friendly dogs). We were here for a night only and felt right at home. Beautiful home and apparently Charles de Gaulle stayed here too. Take a walk down the gardens (there's a few paths)in the morning. Also a few pens with horses Note if you're... More

We booked rooms in this hotel as part of our car trip through the north of France. Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip as no gasoline was available as a result of strikes. Where the other hotels understood perfectly the situation and cancelled our reservation without costs or problems , La Rametiere did not and insisted on their policy... More

The place is well located nearby the Mont St-Michel and other Normandy highlights. The castle offers stunning views on the countryside and is charmingly decorated. The hosts are very warm and the breakfast is one of the best I could hope for. The rooms are also worth five stars: very spacious and decorated with great taste.

I booked this place for a private lunch on a recommendation from local people. We all were delighted by the fantastic welcome that we received. The fire was roaring in the fireplace of the salon, for us to enjoy the aperitifs as well as the wonderful views. The lunch was delicious and plentiful as well as beautifully presented. After lunch,... More

Originally we were going to spend the weekend in Paris, but changed our plans to go house hunting. I wanted somewhere a bit out of the ordinary as it was also our wedding anniversary. It was excellent - a huge room on the second floor with a view for miles and miles. The owner was charmimg and extremely helpful, spoke... More

Staying at this chateau was one of my favorite travel experiences ever! First, the chateau is gorgeous and sophisticated, but still very comfortable! The "gathering room" or "living room" has a nice seating area with a piano and fire place! Our bedroom was very spacious and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. Now, here is the best part…..you MUST... More

This was our first night in France on route to Lake Como and we could not have asked for a better start to our holiday. This Chateaux is traditionally wonderful. If you do stay you should request evening dinner and Christine will be a great cook and host. Our daughters loved playing with the friendly dogs and my wife enjoyed... More

“If you do not like dogs, this is not the place for you, they are beautiful dogs but they are part of the household. Seems from reading other reviews that all of the rooms are very nice, but overlooking the gardens would be my advice, as the gardens were lovely and only a 10 minute walk takes you around the grounds and some lovely plantings, trees and bits of old buildings - very much like visiting friends with a lovely house in the country..”
