We was at Viva Wyndham V Samana, it was a beautiful vacation. The beach, the people, the food, everything is so beautiful, I don’t have words to describe that. Very friendly greetings and all best wishes and the best feedback for especially Chris, Felix, Viktor, David, Walky, Alady, Samy, Gelso, Deter, Mary, Hot Chocolate, Rosa and Johanna. The singer Erika is highly recommended, she is the most beautiful human I have ever seen and her voice is amazing! I am very thankful for all the people there, thank you. See you soon Silke and Jan from Germany
I stayed for a week June 6 - 13th . The hotel itself was very nice although small, but everything accessible and room comfortable. It is noisy as there is construction going on next to this property. The access to the hotel from the main street was not paved and this made it a terrible experience when arriving at the property. Moving along, the pool was beautiful and so was the beach area. The food was ok, not great, and not much of a selection. The Fussion restaurant was the only one worthwhile. Buffet was ordinary but fruit selection pretty good. Most staff was friendly and courteous, with the exception of a specific person, Mr Camposano from the Viva timeshare group. He portrays himself as a friendly person but he was obnoxious and lies on the things he offers, taking credit away from the program they are trying to sell. I complaint to the office about him when I heard the same thing from other guests and reported it to his supervisor. My biggest disappointment was that a pair of silver sandals I had were stolen from inside my room. I reported this to guest services and they said they checked with housekeeping but nothing was found. I had all valuables in the safe at all times, and the room locked every time I was going out , however I would never imagine that someone was going to take my sandals. I only paid $65 for them but it was the principle and the lack of responsiveness from the staff what bothered me the most. Hope this helps others to be aware and know who not to trust. .…
Looking for a beach getaway where the view, the service, food, staff are top notch. This is your place The rooms are basic. But the beach is the key to this destination. With little to nothing else around but relax. It’s worth every penny Staff like Hanser who takes care of your restaurant and food needs. The beach bar staff like Michael and the beach waistress are amazing. And the front desk staff especially Luis Rivera were always ready to help
It was our second visit at Viva. The setting is still beautiful. The beach remains one of the best one in the Caribbean. Amazing service from Hanser. Marisela and Francis. Food was very good. Minimal wait to get seating for our group of 10 every night for supper. If you are looking for tranquility and long walks on a beach...Viva Wyndham won't disapoint.
Let's start by saying the only way to get drinks at the beach or pool is if you go to the bar and get them yourself. The restaurant food was average. The property and views were great. This is where they lost us. They were filming a reality TV show and closed the pool half an hour early because they were setting up to film. A few of us went to the bar at the beach and brought our own tiny speaker because the hotel turned off all music due to filming. The music volume was decent and we were not blasting it. A production crew member told us that their mics are sensitive and they can pick up the sound at the pool and we had to turn it off. We were at least a football field away. He then threatened to call security on us because they have a contract with the hotel. Of course it was an empty threat. We then moved to the lounge area, which was at the entrance of the hotel. There were about 30 guests there frustrated because the hotel turned off the music at the lounge. When one of the guests turned on their own speaker, another production crew member said we had to turn it off. Of course that caused an uproar with the guests. Then another production crew member said we should leave the area and go somewhere else to not bother them. He said they paid for the space and the hotel agreed via contract and they don't owe us anything. Well the contract is with the reality show and the hotel. Not with the guests. What pushed things over the edge was when the same production crew member said we're not respecting them and that I'm uneducated. That was it. All respect we had for them went out the window. The guests no longer cared about keeping it quiet. They paid to be there and wanted to enjoy their vacation. Most guests go there from 1 to 3 weeks. My wife and I only went for four days. We decided to lose 2 nights and leave early. This happened last week and I reported it to management the next day. I waited until today to write this review to give them a chance to respond. Obviously they do not care. Therefore, here's my review and they can do what they want with it.…
As newlyweds we selected Viva Wyndham V Samana for our honeymoon at Samana Dominican Republic and it was the very best decision! We had an amazing time ever since we arrived with the excellent service, delicious foods and spectacular views. One of the resort personnel named ESTAIRY captured our attention with her hardworking and caring attitude. We want to thank everyone for making our stay incredible!!
My husband and I came to Samana for our 25th wedding anniversary and the service was above and beyond. We recommend Gelso for is excellent service. You could tell he loves what he does. His service is the same to every and all tables. His huge smile and wears his heart on his sleeve. This industry should be proud to have such an amazing employee such as Gelso. He made our trip a memorable one.
We recommend Anthony Rafael he went above and beyond in all aspects of the service industry. Communications we used Google translate together and he was genuine and a warm heart. Made our trip very special on our 25th wedding anniversary.
This is my second time to visit a Viva Wyndham all inclusive resort and I have been very pleased both times. The resort is Coscón Bay, and I found the beach to be beautiful, and the resort grounds equally beautiful. Getting to the resort is a bit depressing because you have to go through a pothole filled road that is also trashed. But once you enter the compound you are impressed by the beautifully designed grounds. The reception was great, the rooms comfortable. We had a Vibe room which includes a tiny jacuzzi, but it wasn’t worth the additional price coz it’s not heated and the water was always ice cold. They have three a la carte restaurants in addition to the buffet restaurant, neither which needs reservations and all providing great food. Besides the cold jacuzzi, the only other weakness was the restaurant staff. They were not very attentive and seemed to be doing their own thing.…
Theft: I booked 2 rooms here to celebrate as part of a honeymoon gift for family. The day before we were leaving, the room of the newlyweds had their belongings rifled through, and all cash was taken from their wallets (which was buried deep within multiple bags). The staff (Edgar and Alejandro) told me they would conduct an investigation, but with no time frame and kept reciting this was procedure. I was told the general manager was on vacation, and their supervisor was not working that night. The next day I went to the front desk and asked for the supervisor (also named Edgar), who basically told me that we should have used the room safe and that we would have to go file a police report, the resort cannot assist. They stole from their guests, and made the guests feel as though it was their fault for not assuming the staff would go through all of their belongings. Room: Upon checking into my room I noticed there was no TV remotem. I tried to call the front desk, room service, any every number listed, but nobody ever answered. The next day after housekeeping had stopped by, they turned the TV with the sound on a high level, but with no remote to turn this off. The room itself is antiquated and does not feel clean. Seems to be an older resort that was renovated on a low budget. Food: The fruit was okay, however most other food was on par with cheap fast food or a low quality buffet. I also quickly found out that this is not a true “all inclusive resort”. Only a selection of drinks are included while the rest are an up-charge, so keep this in mind if you have stayed at other actual all inclusive resorts. Your fridge will be “stocked” with a soda, bottle of water, and a mini can of beer. Pool/Beach: Fantastic beach, and pool was very nice as well. This was the only part of the resort that was actually as described. Misc.: There is a store at the front, that has extremely over priced items and are charged in USD. If you forget sunscreen, expect to pay a hefty price for a tiny bottle. Final thoughts: This was my first time in the Samana region, so I chose a resort that I thought would be a safe place to bring my family. I chose Wyndham as it was a brand I recognized, but our privacy was violated, belongings were stolen, and there was zero assistance from management. It’s a very “what do you want me to do” type attitude, rather than a “we are so sorry, let us make this right” that you would expect. Please pay a little more and go to any other resort or even a hotel with paid food/drink, don’t make the same mistake.…
