This is my second visit to this place after going 4 years ago. I can say that the hotel is still very good, the facilities, food and staff maintain their quality in all the services they offer. The atmosphere, the ambient music is designed to have a good time as a couple. The staff is very helpful and attentive to guests' needs. I want to mention the security guard of the beach who found my cell phone that was lost. Given the situation of the pandemic there are many measures: Taking the temperature at the entrance of the hotel, in restaurants and disinfectant gel. The rooms are well kept and good. I just want to say that the lighting in the hallways of the rooms needs to be improved a bit. The food was very good, the cooks and waiters are very attentive. I hope to come back soon. Thank you Viva V Samana.

My husband and I visited Viva Wyndham for our honeymoon. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time. Here is my detailed feedback. Pros: -Excellent value for the money -Very pretty grounds, beach and pool -Beautiful palm trees and tropical foliage. You can walk the beach for miles either way without encountering many other people and it feels like your own private island -The pictures of this resort reflect reality, a true paradise -This resort followed strict COVID-19 safety guidelines such as requiring all guests to wear masks and doing temperature checks each time guests entered common eating areas. We felt very safe at this resort considering the pandemic -Nice bar tenders in general especially Yocairy, Samy and Charlie. I also really liked Michael as a waiter in the snack bar. The brick oven pizza was always delicious in the snack bar and the pasta was a staple in the main dining area. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. We enjoyed the fish and seafood dishes in the main dining room and appreciated that there were often salads and fruit plates available. The staff at the front desk satisfied all of our requests. We asked for umbrellas, face towels, and extra water which was given to us happily. The hotel also gave us a great exchange rate when we wanted to change our money from US dollars to DR pesos. Cons: -Staff speaks very limited English You have to be open minded and willing to learn a little Spanish yourself before you go, which we did. -Food was often very salty vs. flavorful and there were very limited options for vegetarians, virtually nothing for vegans. The food was hardly made with any vegetables or healthy foods. Just a lot of meat, starch and cheese. -The entertainment was just okay, mainly singers that sounded like they were doing karaoke and some of the entertainment staff was pushy, one in particular fixated on my husband. That entertainment member only talked to my husband and did not treat us as a couple even though we were on our honeymoon, which made us both uncomfortable. One of the managers was also unprofessional, spending all of her time escorting, holding hands with, wining and dining two different women instead of checking on the hotel guests.

We were a group of 9 and rented three bungalows and one vibe room. We arrived at the hotel around 1 pm and quickly checked in to our rooms (I stayed in one of the bungalows). Some of the amenities were missing from all three of them, but a quick call fixed that. The rooms were located on the other side of the lobby and offered more privacy. We were pleased with the overall amenities and comfort of the rooms. The food was ok for the first two days. I don't know what happened, but it went from ok to excellent for the other two days. From what we experienced, the safety protocols in place were adequate. On day two, I witnessed a not so pleasant interaction between a staff member ( Loyda) and someone in my group. That changed the atmosphere for a little while, but the other staff members were so great that we quickly were having a good time once again. I recommend the Wyndham V Samana hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable adult-only getaway and will include it on my list for future hotel visits. I cannot end my review without recognizing the following staff members and thanking the others whose names I don't have, but were also responsible for making our stay a memorable one. Mr. Cirilo Avila Ingrid Romulo Erika ( excellent serice) Katherine Sammy Michael Mr. Santos Luis Antonio Anthony Jordan Juan Carlos Chocolate

I had an amazing stay at the Viva Wyndham V Samana hotel with family and friends last week-end. The staff was really nice, the food was good, and the setting was perfect! I liked that there was music outside from 20-22h (with even some staff dancing with us) followed by music inside after 22h (so that those who want to sleep are not disturbed by the music). I highly recommend this hotel.

Sssshhhh.....don't tell anyone! This is a lovely small resort......a real little gem. The pool and beach are phenomenal.....you can walk in either direction for quite a ways........the rooms are clean and well looked after......everything is close by.....the food is quite good and the Fusion restaurant is very good..... no reservations are needed for the a la cartes, and there is no maximum visits.......the nightly shows are also very good, and they put on nice varied live music artists after dinner in the lobby......the disco is a lot of fun once it gets pumping.....guests have access to free kayaks and water and bogie boards, and weather permitting they will take you for a spin in the hobie cat.....about the only thing is the entertainment crew could step it up a bit.....the group at Puerto Plata Viva was more fun and involved........will defo return!!!!!!!!
