The perfect marriage proposal started on October when we first visited Hotel Las Tortugas in Las Terrenas, we were so pleased that we decided to come back one month later to celebrate my friend’s early birthday and for my surprise the proposal to get married with my better half, the love of my live. This second time we arrived on a rainy Friday November 10th when I was celebrating 4 years with my now fiancée. He and my sister in law orchestrated the perfect venue for the proposition whit all the help from Lidia (the manager), she’s an angel! My night was so perfect, thoughtful and lovely that my tears come out just for remembering… The hotel offers breakfast, two-story rooms with beds for 5 people, complementary drinks, and more. The gardens, pools and areas are well cared and the staff is super kind. I don’t have words to thank Lidia enough! She even wrote me on Sunday night just to check if we all were safe at home. We will be back soon!

We were just in for weekend. We usually stay at higher end properties in las terrenas but we weren’t looking to spend a fortune and wanted something clean and close to town The property has lots of trees and shady areas to relax. and great pool for after beach. The property needs a bit of power wash and clean up but understood as tourism reopens here that it will take higher occupancies to get hotel looking neat and tidy However. Where is matters , the rooms are very tidy and fun. Bright walls, and great air conditioners and high quality sheets ! The bathroom could use bit facelift. But they Are fine .. better towels would be nice The balcony area definitely needs a fan to help keep mosquitoes away. It was impossible to enjoy a drink out there What shines that most about this hotel is the Lovely and attentive staff. Not overbearing but just the right amount of helpful. Great included breakfast and daily room service but pool side drink service all from what appears to be 3 women team.

This hotel is basic. Staff is very attentive and food is super yum! The pool is always clean. I've stayed here 3 times. Great restaurants and Playa de Pescadores beach are just 5 mins. walk distance. I'm planning to go back as soon as touristic economy reopens.

This is a small residence style hotel , each room is located within its individual small structure on two levels the upstairs has extra beds for families and the main has a main bedroom the bathroom is ok and the place also has a sit down patio, the pool is nice with lounge chairs and very clean the small restaurant is very good and reasonable, service is limited but it's very relaxing you are about 5-10 minutes walking distance from.beach and all restaurants night life tennis etc.. Owner is French so place is clean and well kept. Bedding is comfortable and limited linen.

Its a hotel like no other I have ever stayed in - not your average that's for sure. Rooms are decorated in a unique style within a jungle garden with small swimming pool. The best part of our stay however was the food served here - out of a small unassuming kitchen came deliciously wonderful Dominican food. There is a small menu to choose from which within the course of the week we worked our way through. You don't have to be a resident to eat there so the place was full every night.

This small hotel is situated about 5 minutes walk from the beach. The simple and colourfully painted rooms are set in pretty gardens in the middle of which is a swimming pool. The food at dinner was excellent - calamari cooked to perfection, pasta al dente, tuna just seared on both sides, etc. The friendly and cheerful staff provided great service and created a relaxed, pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.

Well located, close to the Pueblo de los Pescadores and the beaches. Quanit and picturesque, accurate garden with swimmingpool, romantic restaurant area, cozy room in picturesque bungalows. Clean and quiet, wifi ok. no hairdry in the rooms. Good breakfast and good food quality at the restaurant for dinner. Owners very kind. The only negative point is the dirt road to came here, not asphalted and not lighted up: this limited us to dinner out in other restaurants and we had 4 dinners at the hotel restaurant

We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay longer! La Tortuga was cute, offering several bungalows in a jungle-like setting (but very close to the beach) a pool and a restaurant. Breakfast was included, and tasty. The accommodation was simple and casual but all you need for a short stay - safe, clean, and close to attractions.

My second trip to Las Terrenas in August. Such a nice town with absolutely gorgeous beaches! This time I decided to stay at Hotel La Tortuga, which is located about a 3-4 block walk to Playa de Pescadores restaurants. The cabanas are comfortable and have a very funky, colorful look. We reserved one for two with two beds, and got one with a full size bed downstairs plus three twins upstairs. A/C worked well. However, for two-storied bungalows, the unit placed in the lower level meant the top level got pretty warm. We turned the fans on, despite them being pretty noisy. The mattress of my full size bed was uncomfortable, too stiff and thin, not the firm comfy type. I had a hard time sleeping. Wi Fi worked very well inside the room. (Note that there's no TV in the rooms, only in the common area.) Kudos to the staff. Not only they keep the place in great condition but they're super helpful and courteous. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious !! Toasts, cereal, eggs made to order, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. Overall, we liked Hotel La Tortuga and would definitely consider returning next time we're in the area.
