We stayed for one night on trip from Bilbao (about 1.5 hrs away). This beautiful rural hotel is worth going out of your way to stay at. The owners (welcoming and very helpful) have lovingly restored a 12th Century Tower house, making a stunning and comfortable small hotel, and opened an unmissable restaurant (the food was great!) in a separate...

We were planning to stay in the Carranza Valley to see the Palaeolithic sites, but our preferrred hotel there was closed. Instead we simply looked for a well-rated hotel anywhere in the vicinity and came here completely by chance. We found a delightful small town with a helpful tourist office and heaps of good walks, and an absolute gem of...

This was our 2nd stop on our 3 week road trip around Spain. Espinosa is a typical Spanish village, there was a fiesta taking place when we were there which added to the atmosphere. Or room was very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet and restful. We ate here on both nights and the food was excellent and great...

This was our first time of catching a ferry to Spain and so we got a bit lost leaving Santander than exceptionally lost finding the hotel due to it becoming dark and us taking the "shortest" route. Hotel owner was alarmed at this when we rang to explain our potential delay and advised us where to look for him on...

We were there for 8 days cycling. The hotel offers all what is needed for cyclists. Ample and clean room with good bed, adequate storage space, modern shower, hairdrayer on demand. The breakfast is excellent and complete. Same remark for the dinner. The geographic situation, where Castillia, Cantabria and Pays Vasco join, offers a plethora of cycling tours across high...

Everything about my stay there was perfect and I can't recommend the Posada and the area enough! The posada was incredibly cozy and beautiful and the owners are the loveliest couple. The food that he prepared was out of this world - I still dream about the breakfasts and dinners! They also went out of their way to give us...

I booked this hotel because I've happened to come across it and it looked a perfect place to relax. I wasn't disapppointed. The owners have turned a 12th century tower into a vey comfortable, cozy hotel. Rooms are all different and tasteful decorated but I would recommend a room on the first floor (a big window -lighter) rather than the...

We had planned a trip from France down to the south of Spain and planned to stay in this hotel in May. We misunderstood the location, believing it was in Burgos center. It is located about 90 minutes out in the countryside away from Burgos, so we missed our first chance... This last trip, we planned better and mapped it...

What a beautiful experience, we found this treasure by chance. The hospitality was superb as was the food. Nothing was too much trouble, the décor artistic and sympathetic to the beautiful building' We will be returning next year en route to Santander ferry, a small detour but very worthwhile. My husband and I chose this hotel to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Juan helped to make it special by preparing an evening meal for us that surpassed all our expectations. I don't think I've ever experienced better cooking: the careful selection of top quality local ingredients, the fine combination of tastes, colours and smells were all fabulous! Our room...
