B&B Wine and Cooking is a 400 year old catalan Masia completely renovated. Masia is the Catalan word for farm house. Surrounded by its own vineyard, it offers a perfect landscape to escape from the city. We offer cooking classes where we cook and try wine & cava from the region. Located just 40 minutes away from Barcelona and 15 minutes from Sitges beach, the house is situated in the heart of Penedes, one of Spain's main producer regions of Wine and Cava.

Surrounded by vineyards and beautiful countryside,Marta and Magnus arranged wonderful vineyard tours for us and we got a full education on Cava as well as the incredible dedication & love of their region and all it has to offer. We enjoyed a great cooking class and were treated to a delicious breakfast with coffee every morning. The B&B is super charming, incredibly clean and well appointed. The love and hospitality of Marta and Magnus makes your stay so comfortable and fun, they are excellent hosts.

A small group of girlfriends wanted to explore the sustainable wine region of Cava. We went in the middle of January in honor of a birthday. It was marvelous despite the off-season. In fact the primary advantage to this was that we had the run of every place we went. However, many places were closed Sunday-Tuesday and the smaller towns (Sant Sadurni and Villa Franca) were shut down during siesta. Regardless, the people of Catalonia are so warm and kind. Everyone we met was courteous and hospitable. The vibe was so relaxed and mellow. We never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. There is always a friend nearby in Spain Marta and Magnus at B&B Wine and Cooking Penedes are absolutely amazing hosts! The rooms were incredibly clean. Marta made us the most beautiful eggs courtesy of her own chickens every morning for breakfast, along with local Catalan pastries she sourced from nearby bakeries, delicious coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice (in season and growing everywhere). We booked a tour of the Cava region with them for our first full day there and it was perfect! Exactly what I wanted to do my first day there. They selected 3 wineries, all very different tours, yet all still focusing on organic, biodynamic, old world farming practices of the region. We learned so much about the history of the region as well as the wine. Be sure to book the cooking class with them. Marta is a fantastic cook and hanging out with them in their kitchen was just like going to a Catalonian dinner party where the food, wine and hospitality are absolutely outstanding! They made us feel right at home. The only thing we would have done differently is rent a car. We debated this a lot while planning and in the end thought cabs and trains would be more than accessible. We were wrong. There is no Uber in Barcelona. We had to ask Marta or a concierge at the hotel, where one of our friend’s was staying, to call a cab for us every time we needed to go anywhere that hadn’t been already arranged with Marta. Calling ourselves was not possible since pretty much no cab driver I met the entire trip spoke English (we tried). It rained the majority of the days we were there. Because of this, cabs were even less available and the train was down the days we went into the city likely due to the rain. Cabs had to be called and scheduled in advance if it was after 10pm. Accessibility was not an issue in Barcelona but cabs did disappear after 11. For reference, to take a cab from Villa Franca to Barcelona it was about 100 euro each way. Same to the airport. It was 50 euro to Sitges and back, and 20 euro to Villa Franca to the bed and breakfast (before tip). We did a lot of back and forth, but we were also splitting cabs 3 or 4 ways each time. Adding it up after the fact, it probably would’ve been as much or less to rent a car and we would’ve been much more efficient with our time. It would’ve been nice to have the option to come and go as we pleased too. The traffic and roads looked more than manageable. Drivers in Spain are fairly easy going and courteous. It was also nice to not worry about driving! Overall my first trip to Spain was AMAZING! It was mostly due to Marta and Magnus at B&B Wine and Cooking Penedes. They listened to everything during the planning process and genuinely cared about our experience. They exceeded my expectations! I look forward to returning with my family next year. Thank you Marta!!!

Cozy, family atmosphere, full of good surprises since our arrival, in the room and at breakfast! Marta has a very special way of welcoming and attending as we were in our own home. In addition, for those who like to cook, Marta has an amazing kitchen and classes (minimum group of 3 people)
