The ski area is fun, we had a lot of snow. They only have one lift during the week and don’t have any half day ticket options. We rented a room with 2 Queen beds. Beds aqre quite uncomfortable. The hotel room was pretty run down and noisey. In the last night a loud mechanical noise continued over the whole night and morning to interupt our sleep. When i told the reception the next day they were not really helpful. I asked to speak to the manager who was first on a phone call and not available. When i said i would wait he suddenly had an important meeting. The reception told me he would call me back but no one ever called back. No refund or vouchers were offered. The nature is really stunnning, skiing is fun but small area. Hotel service is sadly bad which doesn’t look good on them. They don’t really seem to care about their custumors.

Ladies mid week ski getaway. 4 ladies in a standard cabin enjoyed our stay . The Stay n Play deal was great as we were provided with $276 in lift tickets for EACH night we stayed! It even included shuttle rides to the lifts or back to lodge, if we'd needed. Road to the hill was well maintained and the skiing was great. We had fun downstairs in the lodge trying all the table games, shuffle board, ping pong, foosball and pool. There was a small ice skating area, plenty of places to build snowmen and snowshoeing and cross country skiing were readily available nearby as well. Cabin was clean and cozy and well equipped, dont forget to bring potholders and casserole dishes if you have a specific recipe, cookie sheets and sundries such as foil, saran, storage containers, salt n pepper. There was enough coffe there when we arrived to brew a pot, but bring more if you want it daily. we enjoyed the hot tubs and pool and sauna (One spot for improvement - change rooms were small, cramped and not in great cleanliness, so we learned to get changed elsewhere) Will be returning but next time wth more ladies!

Tired resort, expensive, unfriendly staff. They have a monopoly and treat their customers like a liability instead of an asset and a valuable guest. The buildings need an update inside: dirty carpets, fridge with broken shelves, kitchen with minimum amenities.

Response from Vern Schram, General Manager at Manning Park Resort
Responded 4 weeks ago
Thank you for your review. We agree that our accommodations are in need of updates and have had plans to do so over the past couple of seasons. However, a lack of supplies and a shortage of contractors to perform the work has set us back in our plans but we hope to be back on track this spring with some updates in selected Lodge rooms and hopefully some of our cabins. In terms of experiencing unfriendly staff, that is a surprise as our staff are continually being mentioned for their exceptional service and care towards our guests. I would be interested in having further discussions on this matter with you to ensure whatever experience you had does not repeat itself. You can reach me directly at the Resort through our main line at 604-668-5922. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards,

The winter weekend rate is overpriced for what you get. We had a mini suite for $249. Glad we were only there one night. They keep saying that the lodge rooms are renovated but this one had chipped/peeling paint along the windows and on the wall below. The lower cupboard in the sink/counter was broken, to the point where the mini fridge was in the room rather than under the counter. The pull out couch was ratty with stained upholstery on the arms. The plumbing is still suspect (we had issues with plumbing on past stays) because the sink in the room turned on too forcefully while the bathroom sink was the opposite, had to push hard to get it completely off. At least the floors and bathroom (other than the faucet) were in good condition. The thermostat in the room does not control the temperature at all. The room was too hot even though located on the lower floor with thermostat turned as low as it would go. Opening the window only helped a bit. The bedding was full of static electricity! it sparked and crackled all night with every movement. The front desk staff were friendly but a new one who didn’t know what they were doing left me a voicemail to say I hadn’t checked out and could be charged another night ;0 We had left the keys in the room and departed much earlier than their 10 AM check out time. I had to call the front desk to confirm we had checked out.

This was a lovely surprise. We chose to stay here on our tour of Highway 3. We were surprised at the size of the resort and how nice it is because it appears to be in the middle of nowhere. The lobby was beautiful and welcoming and would be a nice place to sit around and visit in the evening. The rooms were exceptionally large and made for families who might be enjoying winter sports. The rooms were sparkling clean especially the bathrooms. Some thing you take note of when you’ve been on the road for a while

We love Manning Park and normally camp but, for various reasons had to stay in lodge on this visit. The lodge is an old concrete structure with NO air conditioning. Very tired accommodations and rooms are in need of paint (chips, dents in walls, on edges, etc.). Wifi signal in room was poor. Noise from basement 'games room' echoed on concrete into our room. When I complained at front desk, I was told when the games room closed. When I said that was unacceptable, the front desk person accused me of being threatening. Staff member - pleasant and apologetic - then came to door: he tried to reduce noise. Maybe the games room should be elsewhere?? Fridge in room barely worked: lucky we had cooler. Had to buy ice from store at resort for cooler: store was out of ice initially! Room was WAY too expensive considering. Restaurant: poor service, poor choices, poor quality and expensive. Staff complained to us about lack of staff and reservations that did not show up. Slow service. Young staff seemed more interested in socializing with young customers. Food selections, quality and service are not worth it. Bring your own food if you can.

Functional. No frills. Plain. But this is fine. We knew it would be thus. Clean, staff good. We passed through with s bad forest fire nearby so we spent a very smokey night. Not the resort’s fault. We didn’t use any facilities so we csnt comment.

Most of the staff were exceptional. The management needs a serious re-schooling on hospitality. Planned a 72nd year birthday celebration with my wife, made reservations on line and decided to "scope" the place out a few days prior. Our initial inspection proved fruitful, we had a great lunch in the restaurant, the service was a little slow but understandable what with staff shortages in all. Decided to make a reservation for a few days later for dinner. We arrived for dinner at the appointed hour and we presented with quite the wait, they informed us the did not have a reservation and no tables we available. There were plenty on vacant tables but most were still covered in used dishes. I felt genuinely sorry for the staff as they were literately running trying to serve everyone. It was well after we were seated that the Bartender came out to help and matter of fact it was she that took our order. For the life of me I was amazed how cheerful and friendly she was amidst all this chaos. Well, that was the start of the disappointment, they must have hired new kitchen staff as our dinners were poor as compared to the lunch we had a few days prior. Our breakfast experience was not any better, our order was taken promptly but we waited over 1/2 hour for Eggs Benedict while we watched others who had arrived later were served first. One egg was essentially very undercooked whilst the other was hard boiled. The saving grace on this place was the scenery and most importantly the staff, every member we met was over the top with being friendly and courteous. The entire problem rests solely on Management ! Come on Management, give these people some help and direction . You're demanding far to much for likely minimum wages

Hello Yalerick, Thank you for your feedback from your recent dining experiences with us. I apologize that your dining experiences were not up to our standards, as you experienced during your earlier "scoping" of our operations. We have had very good feedback on our dining this summer, despite the staffing shortages we are currently experiencing. I would be pleased to discuss this matter with you further. You can reach me by contacting the resort at 604-668-5922 and asking to speak with me. Best Reagrds, Vern Schram General Manager

Great location but property is bit run down. One young man at front desk very helpful, another one either needed more sleep or motivation to be there. We didn’t use any other facilities but it didn’t seem busy.
