We stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe studio. Our room was beautifully appointed with a stunning view and very luxurious. We ate at Kobe & The Millhouse and both by far exceeded our expectations. To top it off, the staff were top notch. We’ll be back!

Dear Samantha, Tremendous to read you had a wonderful three night stay in one of our luxurious and spacious deluxe studio rooms. The team at The Millhouse and Kobe will be pleased to hear they exceeded your expectations, with two very different menus but with equally as great service and etiquette the team are known for their flare and care of service. We look forward to welcoming you back and will enjoy serving a friendly face once again.

Dear Tony, Our Remarkables and Coronet golf courses are truly one of a kind. We are lucky to be set amongst beautiful mountains and lush greenery as you mentioned which give the courses that extra majestic atmosphere. Host to the NZ Open, who wouldn't want to enjoy playing on such spectacular and challenging courses and take advantage of having a selection of individually unique and tasty restaurants at your fingertips. Thankyou for taking the time to let us know you enjoyed your stay and golf at the resort, we look forward to seeing you back on the greens in the near future.

It was nice to stay out of Queenstown at Millbrook to appreciate the beauty of the region. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the resort is a bit dated , this added to the ambience and beauty of the place . Rooms were clean. Only grudge as a vegetarian were the limited vegetarian options at Hole in one cafe. I took advantage of the free shuttle from/to Arrowtown for brunch.

The Southern Alps and surrounding mountainous scenery are certainly one of a kind, everywhere you look is a postcard picturesque photo opportunity especially during the winter with a fresh dusting of snow. Our original farm buildings add to the charm and idyllic atmosphere of Millbrook, there is not better way to escape the everyday then a winter stroll or mulled wine enjoyed by the fire. You almost forget we are located so close to Queenstown and Arrowtown and it is great to read you took advantage of our free shuttle services to both areas. We have provided your feedback regarding our vegetarian options to our Restaurant Operations Manager, Jamie is very passionate about the guest culinary and restaurant experience. We also recommend on future visits you dine at our garden to plate restaurant, The Millhouse, we feel the concept and unique dishes at this restaurant would be much appreciated and enjoyed by anyone passionate about sustainability and vegetarian dining.

So utterly disappointed with this establishment. I admit I am very fussy with where I stay and I struggle in particular with cleanliness/hygiene of bathroom and bedding in accommodation. We were super excited as I had lots of communication with them prior to our stay, as this was to be a very special birthday weekend. We thought it would be just perfect as I felt heard and understood. Lucy in reservations was great, we were on the right track. We paid $989 per night x 4 nights for a 2 bedroom resort home. We were placed in Fox Rush Room 11. Avoid it! It was majorily run down. And very very dirty. They had done 3 quality checks before our arrival as the housekeeping team (according to them) had made their best efforts. It was the worst accommodation for cleanliness we have ever stayed in. We spent 4hrs cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen area upon arrival. It ruined our evening and the bulk of the next day. We were late for dinner then missed the Matariki celebrations in Arrowtown as a result. The entire house felt so grubby and run down. Our daughters bathroom handbasin kept filling up with water. It needs plunging and the build up of human waste flushed through the pipes. Her toilet and the downstairs toilet would not flush properly, and upon flushing kept filling with water. The toilets are very low to the ground and are much smaller than average toilets. Upon flushing, the water would spit out and hit our feet. We thought a loud boy racer car was staying close by. On the 2nd evening we finally realised it was the water pipes after flushing the toilet, running the shower, or handbasin. The noise was as mentioned, like a boy racer car revving up and arriving in the street outside. The gas fire created a major cracking sound as it heated up down along the back wall of the master bedroom. Then also after turning it off for a good hour afterwards. I can not believe this place overall has good reviews on this platform. They must be loaded ones because honestly it is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. It is supposed to luxury accommodation. It is far from it. We very disappointed on check out. The front of house manager was very patronising. The solutions offered in writing after I had declined both of them via a phone conversation, would only of caused further stress and wasted more of our energy and time away from our holiday. For example the offer of a daily dust and vacumn . . . 1. We supported the no servicing of rooms, they should of simply cleaned the house properly between bookings. Their 3 quality checks failed them big time. 2. Focus should in my opinion always go into the bathrooms, kitchen, and high touch areas first. Yet they offered a daily dust and vacumn? The other offer of moving rooms . . . We had already spent 4 hours cleaning, why would we want to clean another room for them. In the end all we were offered was no charge for the balance of $90 owing for a restaurant meal. We were already in credit $75 re the non servicing of our room. This was an insult. Think twice before staying here. It sadly is not at all what they market it to be.

Response from Marketing Team, General Manager at Millbrook Resort
Responded 2 weeks ago
It is disheartening to Millbrook you have chosen social media to portray a well considered and empathetic experience in a negative light. Our team appreciated your specific instructions and preferences prior to your stay. It allowed us to choose the best type of accommodation for you to celebrate a birthday whilst ensuring your comfort and overall wellbeing. Our reservations, housekeeping, and Front Desk team put a lot of effort into preparing and ensuring every detail was met and our already high cleaning standards and checks exceeded. We understand and are disappointed we did not meet your expectations; our team truly cares about every guest and enjoy finding ways to create the perfect experience for each unique stay. We have an incredible team here at Millbrook and without them our resort would not be the special place it is. We will not stand for any guest speaking to and treating our team disrespectfully, especially when they are trying to go above and beyond to provide further solutions or options for a guest. We feel your above comments do not accurately reflect the experience our team provided you, nor how you treated our team, and out of respect for the resort and our team members Millbrook will not engage further with this.

Resort location is great- 4 ski fields within 40 mins. Great service. Variety of eateries including fine dining and super casual. Hot pools were nice after long day out. Room with a view. Arrowtown walking distance or free shuttle. Queenstown 20 mins. Beautiful scenery. Facilities were great for our older teenage family to have options other than skiing- golf, gym, hot pools.

Dear Rachel, It sounds like you and your family had a fantastic time enjoying Queenstown and the facilities at Millbrook. It is an incredible time of year to enjoy the mountains, winter scenery, and indulge in the hot pools to warm up after a day out adventuring. With the sunny days we have been having it is a treat to be able to enjoy skiing or snow activities as well as a round of golf. Thankyou for taking the time to let us know appreciated the service provided by our one of a kind team and that you made the most of all that is to offer on and off site. Dear Carmen, We are glad you were able to 'Escape the everyday' in one of our three bedroom resort homes. How lucky we are that John and Peter Butel picked the most stunning of locations to set up the foundations of Millbrook on. Rich in history and keeping in line with the original buildings and atmosphere of the farm it is our pleasure to take care of our guests in the most stunning and peaceful properties in the area. As they say 'Nature is Nurture'.

Great Kobe restaurant experience, however rooms are tired and expensive (versus high end accommodation alternatives). Nice, friendly staff on arrival and check out. Golf experience (Coronet) outstanding and memorable. Beautiful setting amongst the mountains.

Dear Luc, Kobe is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday and we are thrilled you enjoyed the experience. Hopefully an overall great night with friends and family. Thankyou for also taking the time to highlight our friendly staff and letting us know your arrival and check out experience went smoothly. First and last impressions are incredibly important and our reception team love welcoming new guests and ensuring they are treated well even after they have left the resort. The Arrowtown and Queenstown surroundings are certainly magical, so we are not surprised you noted our Coronet course and outstanding and memorable, we could not agree more. We are also excited to begin another exciting upgrade to the resort starting in June, it is important we keep the resort at a five star standard and we are constantly re-investing back into the resort to ensure facilities and experience we offer exceed the five star experience. We look forward to your feedback on these upgrades after your next stay.

Unique and hugely memorable experience for us a couple and with the friends who joined us. Immaculate accommodation and service way beyond our expectation. Every staff encounter was a sheer pleasure and so efficient and helpful. With autumn in full colour and cobalt blue skies, a great time to visit. The golf cart rides and the complimentary shuttle rides to Arrowtown and Queenstown meant no parking worries or stress. Brilliant! The personal and special occasion touches - greeting cards, chocolates and bubbles - a wonderful surprise. We got all the assistance we wanted and more. Arrowtown is minutes away and provided excellent meals and local history . Top marks to Mantra Indian restaurant and the staff at the Woolpress. Seems nothing was too much trouble for the Millbrook staff and wait times for rides was non existent. Great service too in and from the Betty's liquor store pick up spot - we didn't even have to ring for transport. Trip of a lifetime for our friends from the northern hemisphere Lake District. Thanks to everyone at Millbrook for their input and thoughtfulness and for making our visit truly memorable. We've never stayed anywhere like it before so mega thanks too to the visionaries who have made it a special place. We don't play golf but do make use of the pool and gym and walks and wonderful facilities - a hole in one experience!

Dear Guest, Our Deluxe Studio rooms are one of my favourite types of accommodation on the resort. At 50m2 and overlooking our luscious golf course or beautiful babbling brook the rooms are spacious and hold that Millbrook charm our guests enjoy most. As you quite rightly pointed out there is much more to do, see, and experience on the resort beyond the golf courses and we encourage all our guests to explore all Millbrook and what Arrowtown/Queenstown have to offer. Thankyou for taking the time to highlight your spa experience, the team at the spa love to pamper our guests and are proud of the unique and boutique offerings we have.
