We had such a nice, but short visit the first time that we planned to return for longer in March 2015 with a 93 year old, active mother. We arrived to a warm welcome from Arch & June & could hardly believe a year had passed! Breakfasts are wonderful as was tea in the garden. Our hosts always eager to make recommendations suiting our interests. Still a highlight of our trip.

June and Archie are such good hosts that we didn't want to leave! The villa is set a short walk (about 5 mins) away from the centre of Arrowtown in a peaceful residential street. It is June and Archie's home, with two pretty guest rooms at the front, a large living/sun room and kitchen area to the rear and their separate living quarters upstairs. From the moment of arriving you are treated like family rather than paying customers - so much so that we almost forgot to pay when we went home!! We took the smaller room, which has its own little patio. If you fancy the larger room, don't worry that it doesn't have a patio as there is a large seating area in the back garden anyway. With only two guest rooms, it is easy to chill out and have privacy, and we found our stay very relaxing. Breakfast is a lovely homemade affair and differed slightly everyday, depending upon what June had been baking. Lots of it was made from their own produce (they have an allotment) - even the jam was homemade. It was also fun to chat to June, Archie and the other guests each morning, and we sat out in the garden with Archie one afternoon and had a drink and a chat. When it was time to move on to our next destination we were very sad to leave. What a lovely place and lovely people. Thanks June and Archie!

June and Archie run a lovely B&B in the heart of Arrowtown. Their beautiful home has been tastefully furnished and gives easy walking access to everything . We also enjoyed the evening chats in the sitting room. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Comfortable, friendly and helpful experience. June and Archie made us completely at home and we really were spoiled with home bakes and garden produce breakfasts. Ideal quiet location yet strolling distance to town.

booked the villa recently with my family, what a good choice, we had a 5 month old baby which a cot was provided for. the villa is tastefully decorated and very comfortable but the real draw was the hosts archie and june. such genuinely friendly people and keen to talk if you wish, or give you privacy should you rather. the breakfast they put on included in the price is as good as any you will get in a b+b or hotel, fresh fruit, pancakes, choice of cereals, fresh coffee. would definatley recommend this place!

We felt very privileged to spend one night at June and Arch's place. It really felt like we were visiting an uncle and an aunt we had not seen for a long time, they make you feel at ease very quickly without being intrusive. Breakfast was amazing ! Fresh pancakes and homemade marmalade almost brought tears to my eyes :)

Could not believe Old Villa is only 20 years old. This very cute cottage has been so lovingly built with recycled timbers etc that truly, it could well be one hundred years old. Hosts Archie and June are so friendly and genuinely welcome you into their home and generously share their local knowledge with guests. One of the nicest, friendliest B&B's you could ever stay at. No wonder they have many repeat customers. Enjoy lingering over a wonderful array of fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast choices. If planning to stay in Arrowtown, you will not find better than Old Villa with Archie and June

She welcomed us in and made us feel so at home. The room was adorable and comfortable. The internet was better than almost anywhere we stayed. She gave us such good tips and guidance. We loved talking to her over breakfast as well and sharing stories. She made a tasty breakfast full of homemade goodies. She also let us do our laundry and even helped by moving it when some rain blew in. She is the sweetest person and will make you feel right at home. Arrowtown itself is also well worth a visit. It is a quaint and historic town with great sights, shopping and nightlife. June lives a short walk from the main drag. For me, staying in Arrowtown at the Old Villa was much nicer than anywhere we stayed in Queenstown. I can highly recommend it.

Loved staying with June and Archie. Mum and I were staying with friends mainly on our visit to NZ but we decided to spend some time in Arrowtown and Queenstown on our last week before flying home. Have always enjoyed visiting Arrowtown but this is the first time we've ever stayed and appreciated how special it is. June and Archie were lovely and welcoming...their cottage front rooms extremely roomy and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more. Enjoyed amazing home made delicacies each afternoon and found ourselves chatting in the garden one afternoon. Lovely hosts who leave you in peace if you so wish but love to chat if you are amenable :) would recommend The Old Villa to anyone needing a home away from home. Thanks again. Cheers Nik and Carol.

Spur of the moment decision to stay here as we couldnt decide between Arrowtown or Wanaka. So glad we did as June & Archie made us feel very welcome. Although a villa isn't usually our style (we like modern) the accommodation was fine with some special little touches (sheets very soft & comfy). Breakfast was the highlight with June's yummy homemade bread, amazing savoury muffins (my hubby ate 3....lol) and homemade jams - the table layout was divine. Thanks for making us feel that little bit special, we would definitely stay here again.
