Lovely hidden spot in the heart of Mata Atlantica. You literally stay IN the rain forest with its noises, etc. Superb, romantic bungalow (Sai-Azul). All Staff, especially (Gustavo) lovely and helpful. Food is delicious and plenty. Activities (Tyrolean Circuit, Quad) unforgettable. Stayed 2 nights. Arrived late, but waited with the dinner:) All in all, one of my most expensive accommodation ever, but worth every penny!!
We have stayed in Pedra Afiada Eco Hotel for three nights and our experience was very good, but some points need to be improved by the hotel. Positive points are: The hotel location and common areas are great. The hotel stays in the middle of the forest and near to the beginning of one of the canyons, what gives you total integration with the environment. The staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good! The points to be improved: We have stayed in the bungalow called "Cabana do Penhasco" and were charged about R$700,00 per day. Considering the price of the stay the quality of the accommodation is way too far from what we expected. The bed in the room is very old and uncomfortable (actually the double bed is composed by two twin bed put together). The decoration of the room is old-fashioned and needs to be changed. The activities offered by the hotel are overpriced. Besides that, our stay in this hotel was great and we had a good experience visiting the canyons in the region.…
We stayed here for three nights, and it’s well worth a visit if you happen to be in this area. We used it at as a stopover on way to Porto Alegre from Florianopolis, and glad we did! Staff are all very friendly and helpful, though you may struggle if you do not speak Portuguese, though one young man could understand and speak some English, but we struggled in general with communication. Food is excellent, buffet style breakfast and dinner with a wide choice of food. Rooms comfortable and clean. Recommend if you like a relaxing break with stunning views of the canyon.
Amazing resort. The staff were really friendly, polite, helpful and professional. We got upgraded to a better and bigger house because the one we booked had problem with hot shower. The location is stunning, beautifully sit behind the canyon and mountain offering great nature scenery with full privacy. There are plenty of adventurous activities to enjoy. The price is more reasonable with inclusion of breakfast and great dinner. The only thing we didn’t like was the first staff we met rushed us to make a decision for activities when we asked at arrival at 4 pm. We felt a little pressured to take some activity and decided to wait. We later decided to do it in the morning. The ziplining in front of the waterfall was amazing by the way.
I had recently heard about the Brazilian canyons, on the border of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, the two southernest Brazilian states. My wife and I went there to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We love long walks amidst nature wonders, and that is precisely what we got. The people at the pousada are very friendly and helpful, and they have all kinds of activities, including none at all. The Brazilian canyons is a place that you should definitely visit in your life. We are very glad we did. And we plan to come back with the whole family.
