We travelled from Bambun Western Australia and nearly passed this gem of a destination. We had been told to visit here in 1998 by Kevin Bowden a former owner of Kulgera eons ago.He rated the countryside far more interesting than the Olgas even. Taking into account the vast expense of Oz travel and poor, poor, poor, brilliant, poor, adequate listings of motels we encountered and steady... More

This place offers the world and delivered an atlas! The showers and toilets had so much red mud you could have planted potatoes -what a filthy joint. anyone who gave this 5 stars must have little to compare too -give it a BIG miss. No phone tv reception or Internet on camp site.

We stayed here over night one evening on our way to Alice Springs and decided on an ensuite cabin. The price was quite expensive for the condition of the room, especially the bathroom however it was a warm place to rest our head for the night. It is a roadhouse so anything but the essentials should not be expected. The... More

Kulgera the bar, the food and especially the young people that waited on us were excellent. The roadhouse is quite nice as well. The negatives were the motel units showers, basin and sink. I know we are in the outback, and we have travelled for years in the outback and I don't think it is necessary to have the amenities... More

We drove 6hrs from Coober Pedy to the Kulgera Roadhouse without ph reception most of the trip. It is a place to refuel the car, partake in the Happy Hour (6-7pm) at the pub, order dinner over the bar and restock basic items at the store but be warned there is no mobile phone reception. Last week, however, slow buffered... More

$20 a night for a powered site, some with water. Showers and toilets are old but reasonably ok except for mould, which, to me indicates perhaps not the best cleaning routine. Entertaining owner/ barkeep. Fun time and good tucker in the bar. Happy hour starts at 6. Thanks for a good night.

Typical of the roadhouses on the Darwin-Adelaide highway. Mainly exists on fuel and snack customers, although the pub looks like it hosts many parties in the grey nomad season. Staff very friendly, we bought a nice aboriginal painting by locals at local prices. Rooms and camping area looked pleasant.

We drove over and down from Ayres Rock. Had lunch and a beer. Felt the meal and beer were priced comparable to most pubs around Australia. Ayres rock is a resort Fuel not much different than Erldunda. Nice pub, good atmosphere, good burger. Lots of randomness on the walls and ceiling. Would suggest a stop by.
