We flew into the local airstrip which was only walking distance to the lodge and amenities. We lodged in a flash tent. It was spacious and we were able to have light via a solar connection and a USB connection for the essential devices. Telstra connectivity was excellent due to the tower adjacent to the site! The meals were excellent... More

Kakadu is incredible. Don't listen to any of the poopers that say 'Kakadon't'! It's worth the effort. Cooinda provides top unpowered sites on an unallocated basis. Facilities are great, with full access to the resort's beautiful pool, bistro, bar. The $20 lunch buffet is terrific value with lots of fresh fruit, salads, meats & more. Take plenty of insect repellant... More

I was surprised to see how well the Cooinda facilities are. The swimming pool is huge and kids love it. There is a bar, restaurant and acceptable toilets. The barbie spot is well maintained. Toilets coukd be cleaner, but its due to the amount if people in winter using them now. Telstra connection works and a patrol station is included.

When staying here you are paying for the location not the rooms although there's the potential for it to be fantastic if there was money invested in it, basically it's quite 'tired'. The room was clean and tidy, although the previous guest's ashtray was left full on the patio, otherwise clean and tidy. I'm not a fan at all of... More

This place was surprisingly well-designed and reasonable for park lodging. We booked one of the recently renovated cottages and I have to say that it was compact, but very clean and bathroom small but nice and the small buildings (2-4 units per structure) make it feel quite private. We sat out on our little porch and enjoyed seeing birds and... More

Powered site for motorhome. Very busy time of year so caravan park area packed. We were lucky and managed to get a site with some privacy but otherwise the sites were small. The amenities have been recently renovated and the best I've seen. Very convenient for Yellow River cruise. Mozzies very bad at dusk which is to be expected this... More

This place is very central in a park that is so vast . Next time I would bring a 4wD so you can access Jim Jim falls without a tour. We enjoyed the food (although dishwasher needs fixing as you need to select clean plate for breakfast). Flash tents were brand new with solar light and USB charger fitting to... More

We stayed one night in the caravan park and while the girl who checked us in was very friendly and helpful the powered sites are small and cramped and expensive. The amenities blocks are not all that old but they were not clean. The tiler who tiled the showers can't have owned a level because the water ran away from... More

This well organized place within Kakadu is worth a visit. Proximity to yellow waters cruises and walk as well as swimming pool facilities make it worthwhile place to visit. Can easily recommend for interested travellers looking for a well organized hideout.
