The site offers facilities for Caravans, Tents, Trailer-Tents, Motor Homes & American style RVs. All our pitches are fully serviced and spacious. We also offer a Gite, Chalets and Mobile Homes for rent. The site is serenely situated within a natural setting of 32 acres of beautiful parkland enjoying picturesque views of calm surrounding countryside. On your arrival the quiet murmur of 'simply nothing at all' combined with the enchanting sounds of bird song will transport you into the realms of reverie and meditation. It's nestled between the Lot and the Dordogne rivers, enjoying a tranquil location in the heart of the beautiful"Regional Natural Parc des Causses du Quercy". We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and keep coming back because the location is quite stunning. Beautiful countryside, peaceful and remote and yet close to the motorway. The adults only aspect is nice as a change and makes for an even more relaxing environment. The pitches are huge and most are fully serviced. The pool is a delight and there is a nice bar. The restaurant, although not open every day, serves excellent food at fairly reasonable prices. Stuart and his team are efficient and helpful and most welcoming. Every place has its drawbacks. It will not suit people who are wedded to their phones and Internet, for example, and the shower block is a long way from the furthest pitches. To me those are the only negatives and are far outweighed by the completely breathtaking night

This is our 4th year visiting Lacompte, as usual it was a perfect break, the countryside so peaceful, we love sitting outside late at night to listen to the wildlife! Sheila and Stuart as usual perfect hosts. Shower and Loo block immaculate as usual, in fact the whole site is, the borders all perfectly planted, amazing lavender to keep the bees occupied. Sheila is a wonderful cook and we had a wonderful meal on the terrace! Thank you both for another amazing stay!

My wife and I took our caravan to France during the month of June (2015) we stayed at several sites on our travels and this one was our last stop before returning home. If had been our first stop we would have extended our stay. As a retired couple we enjoy peace and quiet and this site certainly provides that, at the same time it conveniently located for Rocamador, Cahors, caves de Padirac, St Circ Lapopie and many other places of interest, or just stay on site and relax. the resturant is excellent all food homemade by Shelia and served by Stuart. Their web site descibes the site and facilities very well and is not overstated, it is all that they say it is. A family run site that makes you very welcome.

Our stay at Chateau La Comte was delightful. The roads to the site are quite narrow, we have a large twin axle caravan, but sticking to the precise instructions given we arrived easily. Stewart was there to greet us and showed us all the amenities, gave us maps to explore the area, and allowed us to choose our own pitch in plenty of shade. The Pool, Bar & Restaurant were frequented daily and we didn't actually leave the site for a few days as we were so relaxed. The Showers & Toilets were always very clean and never had to queue to use them. Having fresh Bread and Croissants baked every day on site was a real luxury in the morning, and utilising the local supermarket for Cheese, Ham & Wine. The only negative I can mention were the Flies, a problem of being in a Forest location

We have just returned from a week camping at Chateau De Lacomte. Our first impression was its peacefulness, nothing but the tweeting of the birds. Stewart was there to welcome us and showed us round the site. He gave us a map of the area and pointed out all the places to visit, the site is ideally placed to visit this beautiful area. The weather was very hot and going to the pool to cool down was very relaxing. The shower block was always clean, (take your shower shoes!) The washing facilities were all you would need. The bar and restaurant were first class, and the entertainment on Friday was excellent. We had a perfect holiday and look forward to our next visit. Cliff and Katy

Our first experience in France, and very nice it was to. This site is very calm and peaceful The shower block and toilets are spotless. Hosts ,Sheila and Stewart are very welcoming . The pool, although not heated was very welcoming particularly during our stay has weather was very hot. We had some extremely good food from the restaurant thank you Sheila .As has be stated by others the final access roads to lacomte are a it bit narrow but are not as bad as some of the lanes in devon and should be no problem to a experienced caravaner. We will defiantly be returning and will recommend this site. Thank you for our relaxing stay Angie ,Richard &Aaron

Having booked a stay at the CHATEAU DE LACOMTE COUNTRY CLUB for our August holiday. Been in the region on a late June holiday in the Dordogne we took the opportunity to pay a visit to the site. To say we were disappointed was a gross understatement. To start with the approach roads are narrow and winding with few passing places. Progressing onto the site the first impression was disappointing, the site looked dilapidated. Yes it was early in the season, but the place looked run down and uninviting. We took a tour round and the initial impression was reinforced. It was a 100 mile round trip, but time well spent. We cancelled our visit (over 10 weeks notice) and have been informed no deposit refund is company policy. Cannot comprehend how this place has ever had a positive review.

Myself and my girlfriend scoured the Internet for a place like this. Bliss! No kid's, no nightclubs, no binge drinking, no mess, no fuss... Just total relaxation. The day we left was the day we started missing the place. The site was spotless along with the pool and sun terrace. Stuart and Sheila had a dream.... Share it with them, fall asleep in the romance of Lacomte. Andy Vai

We have stayed at the Chateau for four years in a row and each time we have left relaxed and with the desire to return as soon as possible. Yes, the approach road can be a bit daunting but for anyone experienced in caravanning, it's really not a major problem and worth the effort, shown by the numerous returning guests, who we meet year on year when we return ourselves. The pitches are spacious, well maintained and with excellent facilities, cleaned daily. The pool, bar and restaurant are lovely, never overcrowded apart from event nights when it is buzzing and fun. The real plus is not having kids running around, just good adult company. Sheila and Stuart go out of their way to make your holiday as relaxed as possible but always prepared to recommend places to visit, of which
