The hotel is in a beautiful setting and like all Riu hotels is beautifully decorated. This one is decorated in a distinctly modern way with lots of wonderful elements. Hurricane Otto came late in the season and the hotel held to their strict schedule shutting down the bars at 11:30. When you can't leave the hotel and you're trying to...

I have never written a bad review of a hotel or resort before. This is my first. I had a horrible experience with three separate customer service representatives before I finally broke and had to walk away. The hotel refused to let our tour van come to the front of the hotel to pick us up. We had to walk...

I visited few Riu Palace properties in the Caribbean in the past and what distinguishes palace from other Riu resorts is the quality of food and service. This hotel's food was simply not on the level of Riu Palace. It would be ok for regular Riu though. Obviously when paid Riu Palace price, one would expect quality food and what...

This is my second time to stay at a RIU resort and I would definitely do it again. This is a beautiful hotel with so many amenities-something for everyone really-shopping, gym, casino (smoke free!!!), water sports, beautiful pools/grounds. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful-plenty of smiles to go around. They appeared to be well staffed at all times and...

We stayed at this amazing hotel for our two week honeymoon and just wish we could go back! Hotel was beautiful, gorgeous grounds, lovely pool areas, clean and tidy, friendly staff and pretty quiet. The buffet restaurant was plentiful and tasty every night and the a la carte restaurants were easy to get a table and posed a nice change....

My wife and I have just spent 10 days at the Riu Palace after a 5 day Arenal and Monte Verde cloud forest tour. The hotel was excellent. Our room overlooked the forest where we saw howler monkeys feeding and fireflies at night. It was a large room with a huge bed 8 or 9 foot wide and very comfortable....

This place is one of the best all-inclusives I have ever been to. It was beyond clean everywhere and the manicured gardens were beautiful. There was NO waiting...bars, towel hut, reception...there seemed to be an over abundance of friendly staff everywhere. Lots of shade at the pool provided by clever sliding canopies. No searching for lounges, there were extras stacked...
