We stayed at Hotel Riu for four nights before heading the Arenal region. We really enjoyed our stay, and despite the cons below, would do so again. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The pools gorgeous and perfect temperature. The beach was clean and beautiful to explore. Our room was clean and spacious and included a stocked mini bar...

We had an absolutely brilliant time at this wonderful hotel in Costa Rica. The hotel, the staff and the food were all first class. The room was lovely with air conditioning and a humongous bed. Our room was cleaned by Liley on a daily basis. She often left towel art which was a nice touch. The buffet food in the...

This was our 1st stay at a Riu resort. The grounds were beautiful. The staff was very friendly. Wife and I spent most of our time at the pool. The activities staff at the pool were great. There was never a problem with getting drinks by the pool or anywhere else. The rooms were nice but was not a fan...

Our room was well-appointed, always clean, with animals made of sheets/towels and flowers to decorate each day. A/C worked well (had to keep it running all the time or the humidity condensed everywhere). Jetted tub was nice and deep, although placed kinda oddly, almost like a room divider between bedroom and sink area. Nice shower and large vanity area. Well...

Fantastic hotel, staff were excellent ,really attentive and friendly. Pools were lovely and the entertainment team worked so hard.Played water volleyball most days and many other activities to go at. Booked some trips with John Wayne 'The Duke' on the beach, he's a great guy and we went on the river rafting, to see the sloths and all the other...

We recently spent 4 days at the Riu Palace in Costa Rica. We like the all inclusives and have stayed at many Sandals but decided to try the Riu from a recommendation from our travel agent. The Riu Palace is beautiful and the people were very friendly. The rooms were great, well-appointed, comfortable & large. The shower was one of...

Stayed here as part of Thomson's grand tour of Costa Rica, we picked this one as opposed to the one next door due to it supposedly being a bit better. Upon arriving we noticed that the decor of the hotel was rather cheap and nasty looking (everything is made of plastic) The decor in the other hotel seemed to be...

Beautiful resort, it really does look like a palace from the outside. Great service at the bar and restaurants. Buffet dinner has themed nights. Free wifi in public areas. My only complaint is that there are not enough bathrooms by the pool area or beach.

Couldn't fault this hotel, very clean and the staff were fantastic! The hotel managers we're extremely helpful, and enquired if our trip booked with Thompson was taking place, as our rep was off ill! Food and drink we're brilliant, particularly the food in Krystal! The buffet had plenty of choice, only negative, sometimes the food wasn't as hot as I...
