Our party of eight visited the restaurant this afternoon for a meal on the last day of our holiday down the coast in the Hotel Kumbor. The host set up a large table for our party, took the orders and we were provided with a superb meal with a couple of bottles of local wine (White & Rose). The quality and hospitality we received was top class. We would have no hesitation to recommend this restaurant to any fellow travellers.

The hotel has two sections, rooms in the old stone captain's house, which has been in the family for hundreds of years, and bungalows (with a small kitchenette, TV, large bed and fold out couch) set in the landscaped garden. All the rooms in the hotel and most of the bungalows have a view of the bay. They have a private beach for guests and dining is available inside, outside on the open terrace and covered terrace and on a landing that juts out into the bay. The indoor dining area has a large fireplace that is lit in the wintertime. There is a play area for children and a safe swimming area in the bay. Many of the vegetables, fruits and herbs on the menu are organically grown in their garden. The menu includes many local meat and fresh fish specialties. They have a salt water pond where sometimes you can pick the fish or lobster you would like. Free wifi is available in the restaurant area, and the rooms have air conditioning. It is clean and a good value. They will go out of their way to ensure you have a good visit and to meet any special requests or requirements. Because of all this, they do book up sometimes well in advance.

The staff at hotel Milena in Montenegro could not be more helpful. We stayed in the bungalows rather than the actual hotel and it was nice to have the extra space and a small balcony to sit on during hot afternoons (and a great place to dry clothes.) The rooms are comfortable (but not luxury) and serviced everyday by lovely staff. They give you wayyy too much food and you are about 20 metres from the pebble beach. There is free wifi.

Helpful staff albeit not especially outgoing( cultural thing / legacy of communism) compared with Greeks or Italians. Food is ok although breakfast is variable with supplies often running out and the need to prompt staff to replace coffee and other items. The out- buildings are basic and rattle in the wind so try and get a room in the hotel. This is great value though and the local area is very cheap for drinks and food 🥘 There is good sized supermarket 5 min walk turning right out of the hotel. Lovely running routes. Boats pick you up outside the hotel. A perfect tranquil location . Free bike hire with lovely local places to visit such as Herceg Novi 4 miles away. Taxis are cheap. My most relaxing ever holiday . It is still sunny ☀️ and 22 degrees most days in late October but you will need a jumper in the evenings. Kotor , Budva , and St. Stefan are a must see.

A wonderful hotel to stay in right next to the beach. The rooms were clean and a good size although not modern but that added to the character of the place. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them, the customer service was excellent. The food too was of a very good standard. I would definitely stay here again.
PS-the waiters/male staff were very good looking :)

We stayed as a group and so had the hotel to ourselves almost. Staying in the bungalows were great as more space. The staff were lovely and very professional and would do anything to help. Food was of a high standard and fresh with lots of choice. Very uncommercial and easy access to the main towns by bus. Beach is metres away from the hotel and the water is so clear. Hotel needs to sort how they enable hotel guests have the sunloungers against those who pay (perhaps reserved hotel guest stickers would be better) but the beach guy always tried to help and resolve.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The surrounding area was quiet and peaceful. Montenegro is a small but a very beautiful country and the Bay of Kotor is no exception. Dubrovnik is only 45 minutes drive away and St Ignatius church is well worth a visit. Budva is also worth visiting as well as Herceg Novi. There is a beach outside the Hotel Milena.

What a wonderful coast line to have immediately in front of one's hotel. You just step out of the front door and you are on your man-made beach with lots of sun beds and umbrellas awaiting you. If you enjoy swimming, and you ought to in such a place, come with some rubber shoes in your suit case, or buy some for £7-50 euros, like I did, just a minute or two along from the hotel, you won't regret it! Hotel food is very good, and there's lots of it but you need to arrive early for breakfast or you won't find the eggs or drinks are hot!

TIP take your own travel kettle & appropriate plug if you like to make a drink early morning or at night! You can buy boxes of milk & bottled water in a super market 5 minutes along from the hotel.

Have stayed in their bungalows three times, each of 10 - 14 days. Nice location right on the beach. Fantastic excursions in the mountains and neighboring countries. Good menu. Low rates. Friendly staff who work their tails off to please the guests. I could continue, but it adds up to five stars. It is not an affluent area, but it is cozy. On the other hand, this is the only place I have ever stayed where upkeep and maintenance are driven by complaints. During each visit, the first three days have invariably gone to fixing things. Leaking plumbing, missing light bulbs, no utensils in the kitchenette, no hot water in the tap, bats in the attic, filthy patio furniture and more. We complain, they fix. No complaint, no fix. Three days to square things away. The management must know about these things but they choose to do nothing unless they get complaints. One star, in my book. Overall rating three stars. The area is on the verge of major development so if we return, we will possibly choose a better run place.

Photos: the exterior of our bungalow, a view of the kitchenette and the floor of the shower stall before we complained.

Hotel was in a great location next to the beach (small - and Russians take all sunbeds early so be quick). Hotel itself was small but well kept - not modern and lacked pool or balconies. Views are good from hotel rooms - but small windows. Overall a nice place to spend a week.

Room Tip: 201 or 204. Bungalows might be good as they are ground level, but didn't see inside
