Detailed Reviews
I have stayed at the Palms a few times for work, however, my last visit was over 18 months ago. I visited again for a night on business and the room and service was even better then I remember. The staff were friendly and helpful, going well over and above when I left items in my room and when I lost the receipt for work and needed another copy. The room was immaculate and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I was so glad to see the comfy recliner chair was still in each room ready for an evening of finishing off work or watching television.
The room has a great set up with a very usable kitchenette (including hot plates and good size bar fridge etc). Even better I was able to have Lone Star delivered to my room with no delivery cost associated. Honestly couldn't have asked for more and will be booking again next time I'm in the region.

I chose the Palms because of its great location to city centre. However with this location comes traffic/street/supermarket loading bay noise. Our one bedroom apartment #8 was upstairs and was very clean on arrival. The bedroom is to the rear and street noise wasn’t too bad. Despite other reviews I’ve read, I had the one apartment with the hardest bed ever! After 2 nights my hips and I were very pleased to be checking out. I also wasn’t happy with the one foot step up into the shower, with no grab rails it made getting out while wet potentially dangerous .

There is supermarket located right opposite, so very easy to get groceries during our stay. It is a short 15mins walk to the city centre where the restaurants and cafes are located.
Property itself is very well maintained and the room is very clean and spacious.

The positives definitely out way the negatives. If you want to be close to central Nelson shopping area and have a supermarket just across the road then this is a great place to stay. Our room was spacious and super clean. We were right at the back which was great because there was very little noise but not so great as the wifi was non-existent in the evening, maybe we were too far from the router.

We had really high expectations for this motel, i had really sold it to the family with a heated pool and netflix....the apartment was spotless and we were located close to the city. They were the positives.
The negatives are endless,
1. heated pool was freezing, not heated at all. Heated by the sun ‘apparently’
2. No curtains in bedrooms and blinds didn’t fully cover the windows.
3. Netflix advertised but no netflix
4. No sleep due to being located next to countdown delivery area, trucks delivering from 4am. So much noise 🤦♀️
5. Bedroom window didn’t close properly.
6. Noise also from busy main roads. Can’t believe the windows aren’t properly double glazed, it was so so noisy.
We paid a lot of money to stay here and were very disappointed. Hopefully they improve things for other guestsin the future.

Booked last minute and receptionist was friendly. The room was a nice size and had everything you'd need. The room was quite cold though and the bathroom fan was very loud. The bed was quite hard which we prefer but some may find uncomfortable. Definitely nothing special but it is in a great location which is a plus.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Palms last month. Due to circumstances out of our control, we were unable to say how long we'd need the room for. No problems, the room is available for as long as need be.
We had a nice sunny studio room with a balcony. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a pleasant one, given the circumstances.
The room was cleaned and re-stocked daily, bed very comfortable.
As our room was closer to the main road we thought we'd get some traffic noise. We heard nothing.
Supermarket directly across the road, walking tracks along the river areas, and only a short walk into Trafalgar St.
Thank you, Brooke, Gardy & Kay for all of your help. We will definitely be back to stay when we next visit Nelson.

Excellent service right from booking to stay. We had a family group of seven adults and Robyn organised two side by side units which perfectly suited our situation. All admin staff very friendly and helpful. The units were extremely clean and well appointed for our needs. With a supermarket across the road and a walk of ten minutes into town this was a great position. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

The room was very clean, and the bed is very comfortable. Would stay here again. The room has a big TV with sky. So, there is a lot to watch. I never heard any noise
through the walls, from the adjacent rooms. This is a positive future, Great motel and hosts would stay again. Lisa and Matt went over and above to help me. Highly recommend staying here.
