This is a spotless place with excellent amenities. Robyn, the manager is very accommodating. It is well positioned at the edge of the commercial area. Only little issue was the wifi needing to be logged in all the time, but that is only a first world problem, or just me. Would certainly stay here if we came this way again.
Another faultless stay at Palms Motel, very clean comfortable rooms, great location in the centre of town, short walk to shops/eateries, fabulous amenities especially the generous toiletries and wonderful hosts - thanks again Cheryl & Robyn
Awesome motel in the heart of Nelson. Easy walk to the city. Great accommodation and having a pool was a plus. The rooms were very comfortable - we booked a studio upstairs and had our own balcony. Opposite to Countdown supermarket - so bought breakfast supplies there. Would highly recommend this accommodation!
We took an upstairs room for four nights. The room had a lounge, a bedroom and a bathroom. It was beautifully designed and suited us for our four-night stay. The parking was more than adequate. The motel is right in the city on a quiet street, Reception was excellent. There is no restaurant but a wide selection of food is available nearby. A supermarket is across the road.
Very good motel. Had 2 bed apartment. Best we stayed in over our 3 weeks in NZ. Nice little pool. Parking. Nearby supermarket. Spotlessly clean. Great shower. Comfy beds. Good sized kitchenette with lots of equipment. Would definitely stay again.
The room was very clean, and the bed is very comfortable. Would stay here again. The room has a big TV with sky. So, there is a lot to watch. I never heard any noise through the walls, from the adjacent rooms. This is a positive future, Great motel and hosts would stay again. Lisa and Matt went over and above to help me. Highly recommend staying here.
Booked last minute and receptionist was friendly. The room was a nice size and had everything you'd need. The room was quite cold though and the bathroom fan was very loud. The bed was quite hard which we prefer but some may find uncomfortable. Definitely nothing special but it is in a great location which is a plus.
The positives definitely out way the negatives. If you want to be close to central Nelson shopping area and have a supermarket just across the road then this is a great place to stay. Our room was spacious and super clean. We were right at the back which was great because there was very little noise but not so great as the wifi was non-existent in the evening, maybe we were too far from the router.
I chose the Palms because of its great location to city centre. However with this location comes traffic/street/supermarket loading bay noise. Our one bedroom apartment #8 was upstairs and was very clean on arrival. The bedroom is to the rear and street noise wasn’t too bad. Despite other reviews I’ve read, I had the one apartment with the hardest bed ever! After 2 nights my hips and I were very pleased to be checking out. I also wasn’t happy with the one foot step up into the shower, with no grab rails it made getting out while wet potentially dangerous .
We had really high expectations for this motel, i had really sold it to the family with a heated pool and netflix....the apartment was spotless and we were located close to the city. They were the positives. The negatives are endless, 1. heated pool was freezing, not heated at all. Heated by the sun ‘apparently’ 2. No curtains in bedrooms and blinds didn’t fully cover the windows. 3. Netflix advertised but no netflix 4. No sleep due to being located next to countdown delivery area, trucks delivering from 4am. So much noise 🤦♀️ 5. Bedroom window didn’t close properly. 6. Noise also from busy main roads. Can’t believe the windows aren’t properly double glazed, it was so so noisy. We paid a lot of money to stay here and were very disappointed. Hopefully they improve things for other guestsin the future.…
