Lovely property. Comfortable and within walking distance of town. Well maintained. Morning breakfast was good. Stayed two nights and had to leave early both mornings. The hostess provided breakfast for us eventhough it was early.
Great location next to the river and Queens gardens with easy access to centre of Nelson. Comfortable and welcoming host, decor tasteful and of a past era. Would have welcomed the option of a cooked breakfast.
Overnighted at Sussex House before trekking the Abel Tasman. Susan did a great job of looking after us before and during our stay - even getting up extra early for breakfast before our transit collected us, thank you! The B&B is very special with its heritage fit out providing a step back in time. The balcony upstairs wraps two sides providing plenty of space for an evening of wine & cheese if you don't fancy stepping out for dinner. Highly recommend.
My daughter and I had a great stay at Sussex House. The rooms and high ceilings of this 1900's residence are excellent and the view over to the river makes for a very pleasant stay. We were greeted with a warm welcome.
A beautiful property, both inside & outside. Lovely older style furniture & beautiful gardens. Delicious, filling continental breakfast. Susan was the perfect hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. Always smiling & helpful towards all the guests. Highly recommended!
