We were in Australia for a birding adventure. We chose Hervey Bay as a stop on our way south from the Daintree to Lamington National Park. We were able to make arrangements with a 'Birding Pal' who willingly served as a guide for us for a morning's birdwatching. We were also able to make arrangements through Emeraldene Inn for a...

This really is a fantastic package in every way: the actual experiences of these two very special islands both totally different, the warmth and hospitality of Lena at the Inn, the organisation and quality of the tours, the accomodation and food. Apart from being a great holiday it is very informative and educational, the snorkelling incredible. Great value for money...

Emeraldene is a good option for accomodation when visiting the whales in Hervey Bay or Fraser Island. The rooms are very spacious and has everything you might need. Good value for money. We only had quite some noise from the other visitors who did not realize that they're not the only ones staying there. Car can be parked in front...

Loved this place - service was amazing and Rob was always happy to help travelers and give tips for the area. Great lodge to come back and unwind, as the rooms are surrounded by trees and nature - feels like you are in a rain forest! Very peaceful and quiet stay, with blackout blinds to allow a sleep in. Highlights - flights into & out of lady Elliot with views of whales & Fraser Island, snorkeling, the guide on Fraser Island & his informative tour about aboriginal culture & life on the island, eating at Coast restaurant in...

We (couple) booked this hotel for 3 nights. It was really amazing - we loved all the plants/birds. Every room has a parking spot. The rooms are very comfortable and you have also some kitchen utensils included (microwave/toaster and some other stuff). I can highly recommend this hotel and I want also to thank the owner for their help and...

Loved our 3 night stay here. Lovely room backing onto a private verandah overlooking the lush gardens. Rob is awesome and the whale watch tour we did as part of our hotel package was incredible. Would definitely stay here again. Only 5 minutes to the marina where there were lots of dining options.

Stayed for the three day deal with whale watching on Freedom 3. We were impressed with the room (good size room and table and chairs and sofa which we haven't had at other accommodation). The experience we had on Freedom 3 was first rate, whales right up close to the boat and also the food was very good. We would...

Rob, the owner manager is very helpful about tours and attractions in the area- see his blog, it's amazing. We stayed for a few days to go whale watching and a day trip to Fraser Island- both were fantastic but long days. This put us in the predicament of finding ourselves dinner without a car to get there. Emeraldene is...
