Review is based on our visit but would point out that the owners, Trevor and Polly are looking to sell and retire. Not terribly impressed with Kaikoura but was on our itinerary because of the Whale Watch (which was good). Very pleasant couple and the lodge offers great views from its elevated position. Little light pollution in the area and...

The most beautiful B&B we've ever stayed at with a fantastic host! Stunning suites and scenery. Let us come and go as we pleased and allowed a late check out (enough time for our bride and girls to get ready) Highly recommend!

We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in New Zealand and had a fantastic time. The rooms are fantastic with plenty of space to move around, a big and very comfortable bed and excellent reclining chairs in front of the tv. The views are great with a small private patio area if the weather permits. The fridge came...

We had a huge room that was the depth of the house, with a huge comfortable bed, a kitchen 'island' with fridge below containing a bottle of complimentary wine, and 2 very comfortable reclining chairs, and seats outside on the veranda that went around the house, so that we could sit and enjoy the sun and the views. Good selection...

View from our room amazing. Own patio area to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and the view. Comfortable and spacious accommodation. Trevor & Polly made us very welcome and were extremely helpful with suggestions for dinner, Trevor pre booked our evening meals to avoid disappointment. Delicious breakfasts.

We stayed one night in Mahrotia House while travelling around New Zealand with friends. Our room was large and comfortable with fridge containing milk and coffee making apparatus as we have come to expect in NZ b&bs. The views from our room ( on the ground floor, sitting and eating were one floor up) were tremendous and, if you walked...

It's the little things that make a great stay a truly memorable one. From the outset Polly and Trevor did more than what I would expect from a host. Organising us dinner at a great little seafood restaurant in advance was not something I thought you'd have to do in Kaikoura, it was, and we were very appreciative of this...

This is a gem of a place. The hosts are really lovely and made us feel very welcome. The room was huge, with a large bed, kitchen area, sitting area and wonderful views over the sea. Breakfast was very good with home made scones (that Penny wrapped us for us, when we couldn't eat everything). Trevor, a fisherman, was full...

I was so enchanted to arrive at Miharotia House. It is a beautiful and well appointed home with a stunning view of the bay. My hosts, Polly and Trevor, were very kind and helpful. My room was absolutely beautiful. I especially liked that it had a private entrance which allowed me to "sneak out" in the middle of the night...
