We stayed at Lemon Tree Lodge on our recent honeymoon trip in New Zealand and unfortunately only for one night. Ivo, the host, was so welcoming and helpful. We had a beautiful room ("poppy flower") overlooking the sea (the lodge is set up on a hilltop just short walk from the town) and the fabulous mountains in the distance -... More

Ideally positioned, a short walk away from the high street on Kaikoura, and with sweeping views over the coastline and local countryside, this was the highlight of our hotels in New Zealand. The rooms are of Scandinavian design, with luxurious fittings in 6 lodges, set in beautifully maintained gardens, in a quiet area of the town. The very friendly, and... More

This was the most amazing and beautiful B&B on our NZ trip. We had room "George" with sea view and we fell in love with the place. The room was clean and tidy and had everything you needed. The breakfast served on our own deck was amazing, we were able to select want we wanted and it was served at... More

Booking in was quick and easy... We were then led round the corner to our room.... With the most amazing views over the Pacific Ocean from the decking which was our balcony. The room had all we wanted and was very well decorated... As my wife says it was our own slice of paradise. We had been given advice on... More

We stayed for three nights, and had a great welcome from the owner Ivo and Rosmarie. Rooms have fantastic view over Kaikoura - you could even see the dolphins jumping. Very well organized, clean, helpful information on activities/dining in Kaikoura and a fantastic breakfast, which is delivered onto the room each morning!

The view from our balcony was unbelievable! Sitting above the town and bay of Kaikoura with views of the mountains and the ocean, Lemon Tree Lodge is a truly beautiful place to stay. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and then taken to our rooms, which were upstairs, with twin balconies. The rooms were beautifully and tastefully furnished, with... More

The view from the balcony of a rather basic bedroom is stunning looking out over the town and Bay. The place is ideal for a short walk into the town and whaleway station for the whale watching cruises. The best rooms are those looking out over the Bay, others are a bit tucked away and close to access paths ,so... More

Only stayed here one night on route to the top of South Island. Did the whale watch ( you need to pre book) which is close by. Beautiful setting and gardens passionately maintained by the owners. Rooms are lovely with fantastic views of the bay - watch the dolphins whilst you eat excellent breakfast delivered to your room. Everything close... More

Lemon Tree Lodge is a beautiful place to stay. We loved the decor, terrace overlooking the sea, attractive gardens and quirky art work around the grounds. Breakfast was good with ample choice, coffee maker of good quality, bathroom stylish and bed comfortable.
