Wonderful way to end a great holiday. Jen and Warren went out of their way to accommodate our last minute booking and ensure we had a lovely experience. The rooms are stylish and very comfy with great views. The breakkie was well presented with yummy options and the coffee...well, best I had on the trip (thanks Warren). Thank you for...

Warren and his coffee prowess - if it's at all possible, it's getting better. PLEASE DON'T TELL HIM!

My wife and I recently stayed her for 2 nights while we explored the area around Kaikoura. The owners are wonderful and a great resource for things to do and places to see. Nice clean, comfortable room and fantastic breakfast. Great location across from the beach. We loved it!

This hotel is in a great location and Nina was a wonderful ambassador for the property. Room 9 overlooks the water and is very spacious. Breakfast was really good. The mid range review is for a few reasons. - carpet in the room had a few stains - blinds could use a cleaning - this price point should include bath...

Since taking over the hotel January 29, we were unable to get routine maintenance in place till end of March. You rightly mention carpet cleaning, which was top on our list of priorities. Done, done and doner! (Is that even a word?) Suffice to say, every carpet in this hotel now gets professionally deep steam cleaned every 90 days, whether...

What a wonderful place to stay, we had a beautiful room overlooking the water. Jen went out of her to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Beautiful breakfast and thank you for organising the bottle of bubbles for me. Will definitely be back and will recommend this wonderful hotel to all my friends.

Hi you! I remember you two. If I can't help with a bottle of bubbles, there's a problem with this world! Have a wine bar in the making downstairs when next you visit. Stay in touch please :)

Stayed here for one night and would've loved to stay longer. Lovely lounge looking out over the bay where you can sit in a plush chair and try and see dolphins or whales on a good day. Rooms have a nice lay-out, kitchenette in the corner and a nice compact bathroom. Information for places to eat on the fingertips and...

Thanks for your kind words. Quick note to clarify in-room "kitchenette" - there's a fridge complete with mini bar - and the technology for making a decent coffee and tea. There are no cooking facilities as such.

We would loved to have stayed here at longer, but for the time we were here was pure heaven. We had booked into a courtyard room for the one night we were to stay in Kaikoura for our Dolphin swim with Dolphin Encounters, but on arrival, we were greeted by the owner who asked us if we would like to...

Wow. What a fabulous review. Appreciate every single word. We're seriously considering using the word "spoilt" in our mission statement. If we aim to deliver a feeling of spoilt, our work will have been done! Great suggestion, thanks :)

We're a matter of days away from offering long weekend lunches - keep in touch with progress on Facebook (search Kaikoura Boutique Hotel). However, looks like the wine / martini bar will emerge first. Let's see... Thanks for your kind words.

Stayed 2 nights in historic waterfront rooms on first floor with ocean view. Price was quite high but the hotel is in a beautiful spot right opposite the ocean & the room is furnished very nicely. The bed was especially comfy & we loved sitting out on the balcony looking at the dolphins! Staff were very friendly & helpful, providing...

Remember that mega pod of dolphins you were watching? Well, a pod of Orca came through a couple of weeks ago and vaamooosch! Dolphins gone... or the time-being. Winter is most certainly whale watching season - lots of different species cruising through. Seas calm. Truly gorgeous. Thanks for your comments. Jen

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Kaikoura Boutique Hotel which sits on the seafront looking out into the bay. It has obviously been recently decorated and had a very pleasant feel to it. Our room was in the main building upstairs at the front overlooking the sea. Although it didn't have air- conditioning there was no problem...

Sleeping with windows open and there being no biting insects was my single best discovery of Kaikoura - YAY. We're taking time over the winter to look into putting more shelving in all our bathrooms. Finding the perfect look / size / feel is where the fun begins, however, we're onto it. Many animated discussions :)

Considering we only stayed for a rushed single night, they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. They booked us an excellent restaurant, advised us on a whale watching trip the following day and ensured we had everything we needed. We returned from our whale watching trip to have breakfast late morning. Wonderful!
