My husband and I stayed one night at the hotel in a courtyard room. Room was nice and clean. The couches in the bar area overlooking the ocean is a nice way to have a quiet drink. Jen & Warren were friendly hosts. Jen gave us a good tip where to see the seals. Nice breakfast was

A very pleasant host was our first point of call. We had booked a courtyard room and it was well kitted out. There was some clever use of the space that was involved, revolving around the TV cabinet which had many storage functions. Smart use.

The court yard room is quite small

The hotel is about 15 minutes walking from the commercial part of the main drag on a quiet spot near Toms track, which is a great way to enter the famous Peninsula Walkway.

The staff was excellent: helpful, informative, friendly and kind. I was (wisely) advised to book a reser

We spent two nights in Kaikoura and if it was for the accommodation we would have stayed longer. The hotel is small and cosy, very quiet. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the internal yard (no sea views), but we thought it was not necessary to pay the extra price and we were

I really liked the look of your hotel, there seems to be very few hotels with character in Kaikoura, so was disappointed to see you don’t accept children, as we have a 2 year old. What is the reason for this?
Hi, we were booked to stay at the kaikoura Boutique hotel on 13th Feb, we have not been contacted directly as per your website as to whether you are able to accept guests after the terrible earthquake. Please can you advise Thanks Jenny
OMG! Just saw your question... We will reopen more glamorous than ever in October. Sorry we weren't able to accommodate you x

Hello, I will be traveling to Kaikoura with my husband and adult son on March 6th, 2015, departing March 7th. We would like to stay with you and were wondering if you had a room or apt that could accommodate 3 adults? Thanks so much. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Sarah Harbisoh
Hi Sarah. I am so sorry, but we do not have the facilities to have three adults per room. All of our rooms just have the one bed, either a Queen or a King. In this case I would suggest 2 rooms, perhaps the smallest room, the Courtyard Standard would be suitable for your son? Kind regards, Robyn.

"Ask for a room with an ocean view. It will cost a bit more but the view is amazing!"
"For the best view, book an upstairs room, but for a quieter stay away from the road book a courtyard room."
