Detailed Reviews
After I unexpextedly became stranded in Greymouth town - Karen kindly came and collected me at very short notice.
The studio unit I stayed in was warm, inviting and best of all made me feel very safe. The unit was clean, well stocked and very comfortable.
The following morning Kevin delivered me back into town so I could continue my journey. Excellent service from kind, welcoming hosts - "good as gold" and it was even better!

Glenn, thank you for the wonderful stay. I admire your desire in brining this delightful old building back to it's former glory. Our room was comfortable, with the best hostel bed I have ever stayed in. You are a fantastic host. I can not recommend your hostel enough.

this motel has 11 ground floor units, personally supervised by Russell, who is very helpful and informative. My room was good sized, very smart and clean with kitchen - microwave, coffee, etc. On a main road - but noise was not a problem. 2 restaurants and 1 supermarket - 5 mins walk, but plenty more downtown - about 5 mins drive. I would certainly stay here again if I go back to New Zealand

We received a warm welcome form Maria, who provided us with milk & showed us to our room. We were allocated an access room, although we didn't need or request it.
Main room - large, well presented in neutral colours. 1 double & 1 single bed, with 2 seater sofa, dining table & chairs. There was also a DVD player.
Kitchen: plenty of crockery, glasses, cooking pots, utensils etc. Waste was segregated to assist with recycling.
Bathroom - a wet room, with the green paint flooring peeling in places. There were pale lemon soft, fresh towels, & a combination shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided.
We used the laundry: NZ$2 per wash & NZ$2 per dry. We were unable to iron as the iron in the room had something stuck to the plate, which we advised Maria when we left.
Allocated parking just outside the room.
Highpark is a little way out of the town centre, but the walk in is on the flat. Garages are near by. Greymouth 'closes' at 9pm, so if you plan to eat out, do so early.

Spent one nite traveling from Fox Glacier on the way to Nelson. The place is a small motel that was convenient and simply nice. Close to a shopping center and a number of restaurants. Nothing special but we had plenty of room to spread out and get a good nites sleep. Least expensive room during our 4 week trip. Got to meet a bunch of other tourists (local gals participating at a bowling tournament) that were having a great time. Nice and quiet at nite.

I stayed for 2 nights while on business in Greymouth. I had a suite with its own bedroom, and separate lounge/ kitchen and bathroom with shower. The whole place was spotlessly clean and comfortable with all amenities for a relaxing evening after the working day. There is fresh milk provided on arrival and some shortbreads which were delicious. There is free unlimited wifi, a tv in lounge and bedroom (obviously the studios would only have one) and the place was quiet and restful at night. Highly recommended if you need to stay over in Greymouth for work or otherwise.

Good overnight stay from Christchurch to visit Shanty town the next day. One of the few motels that had enough room to have 2 adults and 2 children together so this worked out as economical. Very clean, supermarket and pizza shop just up the Rd. The free wifi is a good bonus also.

This is a large unit, a lovely experience after the small room in Christchurch. Loungeroom, fully stocked kitchen, separate bathroom, and separate bedroom. There is a laundry room in the complex. The relief manager is very helpful and friendly and went out of her way to make me welcome, even driving me into town twice.
I stayed here for 4 nights and felt very comfortable, I would be happy to stay here again.

We spent night one here. We have to say that we thought the room was super clean and we were impressed. The room/bathroom size is really great and the kitchenette well stocked. Its a bit of a walk into town but there is supermarkets close by. We did find the beds a bit too soft for us but that is just our preference. It was really helpful to have a second bed in the room. Overall really excellent accommodation that I would not hesitate to recommend and we have very high standards!

The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. However this accommodation is too far out of Greymouth to walk to a restaurant and I felt that the room hadn't been aired properly. My wife though, who normally senses these things more than me, did not seem to be affected. They were very busy because of a sad event which brought people to the town, so this might have been a one off.
