The elegance of Lupton Lodge was a fun surprise. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. And the bathroom was perfection - especially the shower! They have really put a lot of thought into every detail and it shows. We highly recommend the dinner option; Andy created a beautiful dinner for us - it was easily one of the best... More

I think this place must have been the prettiest I stayed at so far. Beautiful setting, gorgeously restored old villa with eye for the history and still all modern amenities. Amazing breakfast and such lovely service. Even has a pool for summer

About 20 km out of Whangarei. Our space was like huge bedroom with a small sitting room then bathroom off that. There was a dining room down the hall which was the communal space. The owner was pleasant and cooked a a good meal. This is where we chatted to two other couples over breakfast and dinner. We took a... More

This lovely villa had it all - plenty of parking, friendly sheep that enjoy pats, welcoming staff who potter around, and stunning large rooms, surrounded by old English gardens. The breakfast was delicious and we ate SO much of this devine feed. It seemed every detail had been thought of, right down to the cutlery. The room had everything we... More

We stayed here for one night and cannot recommend this more. Our hosts were welcoming and The room was beautiful. Andy prepared the evening meal and breakfast which were absolutely delicious. The lodge was a little way out of Whangarei but this was not a problem to us because of the nighttime meal that was offered. It was a beautiful... More

The Lupton Lodge is a very comfortable place to stay and Andy is a very thoughtful host. We stayed for two nights and had an excellent dinner here on both occasions - no need to go anywhere else. Breakfast was equally delicious and we would definitely stay here again if we were every in the area. The free wifi was... More

Found this place outside Whangerei and what a place it is. Set back from a quiet road with pool room, relaxation area and swimming pool. Had a colonial charm about it with a lot of original features throughout. The rooms are very comfortable - we had a bathroom the size of our room again. The wonderful hosts also offer a... More

We liked Lupton Lodge very much. Interesting building, lovely food, a pool table and access to places of interest. We will return. Andy described himself to us a cook but after his supper we felt he was a chef.

We needed to stay for a night and booked here. Andy and his wife were so helpful providing a room on the main floor for our stay. The room was very large with a separate living space.
