We spent 3 nights here; wished We had stayed longer. Superduper! Andy, the owner, is a wonderful host and a great cook. We highly recommend you to eat your dinner in-house. We had two of Andys courses from the menu, the pan fried terakihi fish with lemon & capers and the Moroccan spiced lamb rump. We also tried the apricot...

In January 2017, my husband and I returned to New Zealand after having visited 29 years ago. We spent two days/nights at the Lupton Lodge and can highly recommend it to everyone. Andy was kind enough to offer us a free room upgrade and we had a very large suite. Not only is Andy a wonderful host, but he is...

Our host Andy greeted us as we arrived and made us feel very welcome. He showed us around and we discussed dinner as he was cooking just for us that night. Our room was in the modern converted barn, upstairs. It was immaculately presented with an outstanding bathroom and a very comfortable bed that gave us a good nights sleep....

This was my third visit to this property and it remains an excellent option in the area. As before I stayed in the Green Room which I like due to its space, BBQ, and ground floor access. Breakfast was delicious and the three cooked options are more than the standard bacon and eggs. Several areas of the main lodge have...

We stopped for two nights on the way back to Auckland from the north. The hosts Andy and Karen were most helpful and friendly. The room was large, well equipped, the bathroom huge. The cooked a la carte breakfast was amazing. We opted to have an evening meals too and they were faultless. The large grounds around the property were...

Andy arranged both diving at Poor Knights Island for my son and snorkelling for the rest of us well in advance of our stay. The barn was beautifully designed and the food delicious. We were only here for two nights so did make use of the pool but it looked very inviting. Whangerei falls were a short drive away and...

This lovely old homestead has been modernised to provide the traveller with comfortable rooms and a pool to relax in after a long drive. Andy and Karen are excellent hosts, the salmon and the chicken curry were both very flavoursome dinner dishes and breakfast was varied and tasty. Andy has many helpful tips for touring around the area, we will...

Our stay at Lupton Lodge was very pleasant. The room was clean, had a great bathroom. The location outside of Whangarei was convenient to the city, but had a clear country feel to it. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were excellently prepared and delicious.
