Heritage Trail Lodge is located just outside Margaret River city centre. But this is exclusively advantageous because it is extremely quiet and there is a really beautiful footpath to the place, which can be walked without problems even in the evening.
The kindness was really extremely great, it couldn't get better. The rooms are well furnished by Australian standards and are above the "motel level" normally found. Breakfast is also significantly better than in comparable accommodations in this price range. There are many regional products of good quality. Toast, yogurt, good jam, fresh fruit.
We felt very comfortable in the three days.

We arrived in the dark and snuck into a spacious room with a comfy bed and a large bathroom including a spa bath! While it was a rather chilly 4-degree morning, we rugged up and made our way to the complimentary continental breakfast. We were welcomed into a large sunlight dining room with views of the trees and gardens. There was quite a spread provided, including all dietary needs considered. Fresh filtered water was great to refill our water bottles for the day. Helen & Terry are friendly and extremely committed to making their guests stay as enjoyable as possible. We happily spent 3 nights here which allowed us to walk into the town or drive to nearby wineries and caves with ease. The Brewery next door is a bonus too!

I stayed for 3 nights in May with my husband with the intention of traveling around the Margaret River area. The lodge is convenient for driving to other parts and also is a 5 min drive to Margaret River town centre for food. It is walking distance too though is a bit dark after sunset. The lodge is cleaned well every day and the breakfast has great bread from local bakeries and excellent coffee. The room was slightly cold until we figured out setting the heater works to keep the room at a nice cosy temperature. Recommended for anyone to stay if wanting to go around the area.

We are frequent visitors to Margaret River from Perth, and have stayed in many of the region's beautiful places, but in Margs itself this is totally our favourite place to base ourselves. There have been many happy returns over the years and it never disappoints.
Close enough to town to walk to restaurants and shops, yet on the edge of the forest so that you wake up in the morning close enough to the bushland trail to enjoy the chatter of birds and the view of sunlight filtering through the Karri, iconic trees of our beautiful South West.
Set in lush gardens, the spacious bedrooms are tastefully furnished to reflect the colours of the region, with huge well planned bathrooms having everything you need. The beds are comfortable and the aircon is efficient.
The breakfast room is bright and welcoming, surrounded by greenery, with the option of outside seating in the warmer months. All the rustic style furniture is made from local wood and a table is laid out with a choice of daily newspapers and local information. The continental buffet breakfast choices of local produce, cereals, fruits, yogurts, breads, cheeses, preserves, pastries and freshly brewed tea and coffee are unsurpassable.
What more can we say, except that we highly recommend it as a place to stay in Margaret River.

The Heritage Trail Lodge is the perfect location to stay when visiting the Margaret River region being set close amongst native bushland in a beautiful garden setting. Check in is brilliant and management provide amazing assistance to ensure your stay goes smoothly. Rooms are extremely generous size wise and look out onto bushland. Beds and bedding highly rated as being extremely comfortable for a good night's sleep. Bathroom is large, well appointed with bonus huge spa and even the tv has a very generous size screen. Continental breakfast exceeded expectations with amazing selection of everything - fresh fruits/yoghurts/juices/breads and cheeses as well. Brewery 20metres walk with great food options and family friendly. Opposite is Giniversity Distillery with lovely food options, drink selection and great staff. Easy walk to main street shops.
I highly recommend the accommodation atThe Heritage Trail Lodge as being superior accommodation on every level and would most definitely stay here again.

We were extremely impressed with our stay at the Heritage Trail lodge in Margaret River.
The location is perfectly situated close to town giving the privacy of the Forrest and convenience of nearby restaurants and stores.
The resort style rooms were clean and maintained every day by the staff, with classic wood decor and stunning views of the Forrest we felt like we were staying in a private villa.
The lodge itself offered a decent cold breakfast included in the price situated near the main building which was connected to the rooms via a peaceful boardwalk surrounded by green gardens.
The family owned establishment was nothing short of impeccably hospitable, its staff willing to have a chat about your day and point you in the direction of your next adventure.
Wether you pick an attraction easily accessible by any roads close to town or decide to take a stroll through the nature on the family friendly trail connected to the lodge this place has it all.
We highly recommend this establishment for any couples, friends and families looking for a clean, comfortable and welcoming stay at a decent price in the heart of Margaret River.

Cannot recommend this wonderful lodge highly enough. The staff could not do more to help us - finding specific businesses we were looking for, providing us with excellent local recommendations and going above and beyond to help us with washing. The breakfast is very good and the rooms are incredibly comfortable, beautifully decorated and super clean.

We really liked this place. When we arrived we had such a friendly greeting at reception who went through everything with us and directed us to our room. There was a strong smell of disinfectant in the room which we put down to thorough cleaning, later it became clear that there must have been a sewage problem as the smell was not pleasant by the end of our 2 night stay (I informed management at the end of our trip). The spa room was large, with a balcony overlooking bushland. There is a lack of privacy on the balconies as you can see all the neighbours sitting outside which sometimes can be awkward, a small partition would be good. The bed was comfortable and there was a sofa and table. TV was up to date with netflix and foxtel, as well as live tv. the bathroom was dated, toilet roll holder coming away from the wall, weird partitioning of toilet and shower, a sliding screen to open the bathroom to the bedroom, all matching as if they had bulk shower screens to use up. The spa bath was not used as it looked old and marked. tea/coffee making facilities were in the room,, shampoos etc were complimentary. The continental breakfast was very nice, I like that it was kept small to give you the choice to eat there or walk up the road to small cafes etc. We liked this little place, it felt like a family run business and the staff were lovely, and to be honest, after the covid shutdowns businesses can not be expected to just be able to renovate, we will be back for sure.
The wildlife whilst sitting on the balcony was a delight to watch. the brewery next door do great family meals and has a lively atmosphere. Margaret river bakery is worth a visit, it gets very busy and check the opening hours.

Terry has been friendly and professional. He has communicated with us from the day we booked until handing us over the keys to the lodge.
The room was spacious and very clean and tidy..!! The Spa is of good size for two and very clean.
The location on Bussell Hwy is very handy to the town centre where you can buy groceries and also experience amazing food.
The staff members were amazing, they took the time to ask us how we were enjoying our stay and even helped us with umbrellas and directions to the scenic walk just behind the lodge.

This is a very nice place to stay. Although it doesn’t have the latest mod cons it makes up for it with plenty of space, bathroom and kitchenette that easily accomodate your needs and a buffet breakfast which I found to be extremely tasty and wholesome. The hosts of this Lodge are polite, friendly and go out of the way to make your stay an enjoyable stay.
The lodge is close to the centre of town and has onsite parking.
Definitely recommend this Lodge as a worthwhile place to stay.

There were no guest laundry facilities, however the owners did not hesitate to let us do some washing in their machine. We also used their dryer. No charge at all and so helpful. Loved it there :)
Yes, check in is 2pm and checkout 11am.
Reception is open from 8.30am until 6pm and as above, if arriving later than 6pm, advise at time of booking and arrangements for keys can be made.
